RC sucked on many levels.

Complete offensive idiot with 6 or 7 cupcakes every year on schedule. Never won ****.

While I agree that RC was conservative and predictable, I think y'all RC bashers really don't fully appreciate those times. Maybe y'all are too young. Those games were fun to go to. Dave South was fun to listen to. Aggie football is flat and sucks these days compared to those "good old days".

I was there and yeah they were fun. However, we were foolish enough to believe our "fun" victories over the likes of powerhouses like TCU, SMU, Rice, Baylor, Tech, UH and a pathetic Texas meant something. Along with the one or two cupcakes we scheduled each year. We were miserably wrong. Our Golden Era was born upon the corpse of the dead SWC…. fun, but not all that impressive when viewed from afar.

The only curse about RC is letting him stick around for 20+ years keeping his fingers in the pie having an actual role in the program. Most schools send a dude packing after they fire him. We turned RC into a legend. We'll have a statue of him outside of Kyle soon enough.

You can pound sand. We need more people like RC who love this school unconditionally. F off with your hate. The man has spent almost all of his career supporting the Aggies.
RC Slocum deserves to have a statue out in front of Kyle Field because he won 3 conference titles, and he did it with class.

Life isn't all about wins and losses.

Class? What does that even mean? Anyway, given the stories… that's a debatable statement regardless.

BTW Jackie won three conference titles. Does he get a statue?

His statue will be in Starkville

He had one 10 win season out of 13 at Miss. St. and two 10 win seasons out of 7 at A&M. Pitt is where he shined with three 11 win seasons out of 5.

Im being facetious. He left A&M and then went else where. He's no different than the majority of the other coaches that were employed here.

If one Aggie football coach deserves to have a statue outside Kyle, it should be R.C

The curse of RC was not immediately firing him when the plane touched down from the Sugar Bowl. If student fan like myself could predict our offensive plays with 80% accuracy from the stands, pretty sure tOSU coordinators were at 90% plus rate on knowing our plays. Letting him hang around and have an office after he was let go was even more ridiculous than giving him a decade plus of beating poor SWC teams and then getting thumped in every bowl game.
The curse started long before RC was even in college!!

It all went down hill when they broadcasted our option play call on National TV. I was there.
