Late in the game USC literally just threw to whoever Ricks was covering. No matter where we tried to hide him.

We also never gave him any help. How about adjust a defensive call?
Mike Elko on what gives him optimism about next season: "That I won't have to watch this defense play like this ever again."

I think I can see a solution to the problem. The NCAA needs to go to a 26 game season.Bunk Moreland said:jt16 said:Bunk Moreland said:

According to the defensive secondary savant HC last night, it's 13 games into the season and we can't play zone defense.

Is that an actual quote?
Texas A&M CB Dezz Ricks gave up 655 receiving yards this season (per PFF), which is the most in the SEC and seventh-most nationally. No Aggie player has allowed more receiving yards in a season since Charles Oliver (664) in 2018. Ricks surrendered 6/115/1 vs. USC, per PFF.

Hard to believe we don't have anyone to replace Ricks. He is absolutely terrible. And for that matter so is Bateman. Both should not be here next year.
He was playing outside contain, which is likely what the defensive scheme was. No one can cover a slant when setting up to protect the sidelines.2004FIGHTINTXAG said:
The effort on the slant (game winning TD) was atrocious.

Yeah that's not happening.
I think he's just pissed at how bad our defense was.
That's actually so telling. I thought all year he reminded me of Olver.vander54 said:
