I think 8 teams would be the right number of playoff teams with the Power 4 conference champions and 4 at large spots. That would mean 7 CFP games from the quarterfinals to the national championship game instead of 11 CFP games and would avoid conflict with Saturday NFL games in December.LB12Diamond said:

So according to what the announcer, Roddy Jones just said, if you play one good quarter against a tough opponent, you are worthy of being a playoff team. SMU's 4th qtr play against a Clemson team that got beat at home to USC earned them a playoff spot. Great analysis!
