Texas A&M adds former Colorado DE Dayon Hayes via transfer portal
Pressure off the edge and the ability to create it is always a top priority around the SEC, and the Aggies received some good news as former Colorado defensive end Dayon Hayes has committed to Texas A&M.
A P4 defender with several years of experience, Hayes checks in at 6-foot-3 and 265 pounds. In an injury-shortened 2024 season, he posted 16 tackles, 3.5 TFLs and two sacks in four games.
Before his time in Boulder, he spent four seasons at Pitt and posted 45 tackles, 11 TFLs, and four sacks in 2023. He was a four-star recruit coming out of Pittsburgh (PA) Westinghouse in the class of 2020, and he has recorded 96 tackles, 25 TFLs and 15 sacks in his college career.
Hayes is the Aggies’ seventh addition from the transfer portal and the second addition on the defensive side of the ball.
