His Aggie career is officially over… is this the first time a backup has opted out for the NFL Draft

Is opting out another term for removed from team before the bowl game?

Isn't he out of eligibility anyways.

Shame - but not all achieve potential.

At least he can take pride in a degree from TAMC!

Those passes he caught against L$U in 2022 won't soon be forgotten.

Seems like he "opted out" of most of his career here...

Good luck to the guy but maybe he did reach his full potential. I mean, he had 4 years to prove that he was more than what he showed on the field. Of course, having that carousel at the QB position every year didn't help.

Go on, take the money and run………

I wonder how much his NIL was this year?
It only took me a year to figure out this place is nuts!

Its weird because everytime they actually gave him minutes, he would make plays.
Seems to mean he is just not doing something in practice he needs to, so he will have to get that figured out to be a pro

Dude, Moose isn't an NFL receiver.

You're probably right, but we will see.

I hate the way, however, that so many are ragging on him. He stuck it out at A&M, even though he was having trouble seeing the field. He could have just as easily headed to another (lesser) program and put up some pretty eye-popping numbers. God knows, we saw some great catches from him when he was spirited enough to do them.

But since he stuck it out here, he is somewhat rare these days, and I will always hold him in high esteem and wish him the best.

Wish him well. That game solidifies his legacy. Wish it finished on the same high, but nonetheless he's an Ag for life.

Arguably the best hands of a receiver on this team in a long time, and on a 50/50 ball he would come down with it most of the time..

Must have been some bad stuff to not throw it his way more often.

I agree. Moose always made plays when he had the opportunity. I have no idea why he didn't get more playing time and I presume nobody on this board knows those details either. But we know he stuck with us for several years when most would have bailed. I think we wasted his talent more than he did.

Maybe its just me but I applaud Moose for staying at Texas A&M with so many kids opting out when things dont go as planned. Certainly things didn't work out as planned and maybe part of that was on him but he is and will always be an Aggie to me. Thank you Moose for staying and being part of the team and Gig Em!

I agree, my comment above was in jest and honestly frustration. We'll never know why his talent was not enough for him to either find the field or find another home...

The dude would show up at times. Usually late in the season after not playing much. I guess the practice rumors were true. He never wanted it.

Moose wasn't close to a gamer though. You don't take plays off as a WR when needing to win your spot

Bizarre opt out since he's not even going to get a sniff in the draft and may be lucky to get a camp invite. Decided he didn't want to practice anymore is what it seems like

Moose never really opted into college football from what I've seen

He absolutely has the talent to play in the NFL but since he never opted in....

Maybe someone gives him a FA deal to see if he opts in

Backup is generous. He was closer to E King Gill out of the stands.

Who knows? Reminds me of the "Sumlin's dog house" rumor era, when we never knew if a player had real problems or if he just mouthed off to the wrong pair of sunglasses in practice.

This is a good example of a "story" that the sports reporters who cover the Ags never seem to know.
