Paul Skenes is an example as well. He pitched for Air Force baseball and then transferred to LSU and now pitches for the pirates. Certainly a unique situation with the academies. From what I understand they can't make NIL dollars while playing there but they are paid a salary I believe since they are technically enlisted in the military while there.

Skenes was encouraged to transfer by his coaches at AF. They saw the potential he had to pitch at the next level.

This was replied to by another poster, but I am curious what your response means. Did you start at USAFA?

You can read all about the different steps on other forums but I 100% assure you that upon entering into life on a Military installation, signing an agreement to serve form and then having every part of your life administered by DOD personnel that you are on active duty.
