I only watched UIW one game( (Saturday). Very much a quick horizontal passing game. Hitch/quick slants etc. Get the ball out quickly to their receivers or running backs so they can use their running ability. Very Jake Spavital type offense. I would imagine Calzada would like to play in a more downfield passing game if he has any NFL dreams.
It's McQueen's version of the air raid. The same system that produced Mahomes, Goff, Hurts, Murray, Minshew, Mayfield, and Williams. That's just listing off of my head guys who started this year in the NFL without even counting backups or guys that have gotten drafted. Given at most no more than a dozen teams have been running that offense at a time in the last decade and it makes up that much of the NFL I would say it does a really good job of developing QBs. Certainly better than other college systems.
