I hear you. But I also think our status is much different now than what we suffered in 2000s. We are well funded, on national scale with SEC, have the facilities, incredible crowds and environment, and coaching staff (if not now there is no limitation to righting the staff over time). There could be a world where A&M is dominant soon. And Texas could be at the same time.

Man, this is dramatic.

First, there will be busts in nearly every single class. Hell, off the top off my head, I know Johntay Cook was a top-50ish guy and he is in the portal for Texas and I am sure there are others. No school is going to have a 100% hit rate on their recruits.

Sure, they are recruiting and playing incredibly well. Sure, that is likely to continue. But the implication that we are just scrounging up JAGs who are happy to be here is ridiculous. We have a top-ten class right now and flipped two five stars right before signing day. If you think Jerome Myles and Lamont Rogers are JAGs, sign me up for more JAGs.

I didn't think adding Texas brought in any additional pro rata revenue for the other SEC teams under the current ESPN deal. You'd probably need to sweeten the pot.

Brown's demise started after that championship game when he tried to switch to an Alabama-style offense without having the roster for it and, generally, moving away from a style more like that played by so many high schools in Texas, his recruiting base.

Add in laziness and star chasing and his real world talent advantage was soon gone.

Star chasing in 2002 was a bad idea. In 2024, there is so much more video. More camps. More analysis. Better technology to see weaknesses. Better character testimonies. No way to hide from Police reports, etc.

If there is an incident about a player that is not being covered, someone runs to X and reports it immediately.

With regard to Terry, he's been a documented almost Paul Bunyan like figure since 6th grade.

Ah, yes. Another revisionist post. Go back and read all the posts about how thuggish and bad their 5 stars were at the time. 20 years later and the board wants to change history and say things changed after the fact. Kind of like now how people are actually saying radio was good. Back in the day, everyone here said he was awful. More changing history to make it fit a narrative.

It has to do with one thing, Money.

We can hate them but they did a great job recruiting this class. Took Williams from us, saved money at the wr position when they lost one and replaced with another. Took that extra money bought the best d linemen in the class from Georgia a nothing NiL school. I'm sure they told him wait and see who we sign and whatever money is left is yours. Georgia pays nothing so anything over 2-3 hundred was going to be more then them. Hate to see ot but was a shrewd move by them.
