Texas' class has players from Louisiana and Florida which was common when UT was in the Big 12 (especially with the advent of IMG in Florida), but it also has 4 players from Georgia which seems like a new wrinkle that could be at least partly attributed to being in the SEC.

This guy is no better than anyone we signed. The bs media industry instantly elevates anyone that signs with the sips. Just like with politics, college footbal media is a fraud.

I mean they have maximized NIL as soon as it became a thing, even when sark after dark was 5-7 and 8-4. If our BMAs want to compete at the highest leve they will have to spend big like tu is doing.

Recruiting services due to tend to prop up the recruiting of the schools with the biggest fanbases. State U.s tend to have the biggest in terms of alumni and tshirt fans.

Except that this kid has been listed as a 5* player long before his commitment today. He's been a national top 10-15 guy all year, has nothing to do with sip media or anything related to them. Getting his commitment is huge for any team that lands this kid. Of course time will tell, but he is projected to be special.

So they've been able to build an sec roster while not having to play an sec schedule

Then when they finally do get an sec schedule they are gifted the easiest sec Schedule in history

I hate to say it, but Texas has been elite over the last two years:
1. Texas is 23-3 over the last two years, including 15-2 (8-1 Big 12 in 2023 and 7-1 SEC in 2024) in conference games and 18-3 against Power 4 teams (10-2 in 2023 and 8-1 in 2024).

2. Texas has made back-to-back conference championship game appearances.

3. Texas has made back-to-back playoff appearances.

4. Texas has won an FBS leading 11 consecutive road games since a 41-34 loss at Oklahoma State on 10/22/2022.

5. Texas locked down the No. 1 recruiting class in the country by landing down 5-star DL Justus Terry.

Hopefully, Mike Elko can bring this football program to the next tier by recruiting some great players, adding key portal transfer players, and properly coaching and developing them. If Elko can do these things and retain most of the top players, we can beat Texas and other SEC opponents in the future.

I'm not sure, I think this is the first year where it was clear as day that the annual reshuffling of players will make programs less dominant than ever. No matter how much talent a team brings in good players will want to play instead of being a backup and they won't stay. You can't stack it anymore.

This is where Deion is right. You don't need to worry as much about freshman because half of them are going to leave before they see the field. We need to crush the transfer portal and get proven guys even if they weren't as highly recruited out of highschool

Fortunately this news had no impact whatsoever on my day.

If they want me to contribute to NIL, reduce my cost to buy tickets. I am spending almost $8K a season on 6 season tickets. I guess I could just drop them, donate that money to pay prima donnas, and watch the games on tv. I think not. If this unlimited free agency doesn't stop, I will probably give up college football.

We are semi-poor.

We did not let them in. So that's a silly statement by you.

They are recruiting better bc they are dishing out NIL.

But it's also bc they are in the SEC and not the big 12. It does help.
