Thank you Conner Weigman for being a good Aggie and great team player. Best of luck wherever you transfer to.

I wish things worked out better here for CW. He played behind some of the worst offensive lines we've had in recent memory and then the change in offensive philosophy this year didn't suit his strengths as well, either. Under the right system, I think he can be a very good qb. I appreciate his efforts here, and wish him the best for the future.

He is a class act with a ton of talent. Something caused the plateau and none of us will ever understand why.

It's been disappointing to see all the rumors, criticism, mocking and second guessing from many on this site. Most who have likely never played football or other competitive sports and many who have not played at the collegiate level. But hey, everyone gets an opinion.

There are a lot of TexAgs posters who need to experience life; and get a look behind the scenes to see why people sometimes have setbacks. e.g. cancer, family loss, mental issues, stress, financial struggles, etc.

#15, go do great things. Praying for a successful life for you Connor! Thanks for your contributions and time in Aggieland! Gig em!

The ridicule has been disappointing. We're talking about a guy that basically had his foot broken in half and showed up for spring practice every day with a limp so he could be prepared for this season. I could see the need to make a change but I'll always feel like it was a mistake to make the change permanent regardless of how well Reed was performing. And we rode it to a 1-3 finish while playing ourselves right out of a chance for the playoffs. I hope he finds a more appropriate offense and has success.

This is the factor that many here are not considering. CW was supposedly the problem, but the solution went 1-3 despite getting better each week. I think CW gets drafted after a stellar season at who knows where university

Didn't get a chance to play vs sips even though the offense scored zero. Perhaps he had already told Elko about transferring. However, had he come in and led us to victory, perhaps he would start against Georgia, so who knows if he would have transferred after that.

Now, is there any evidence he could have come in and won? No, but we have witnessed some pretty good play by him in the past.

I wish I knew the real story behind him transferring. There's more to this than a simple transfer, there's more here than meets the eye! .

He wants to start in an offense that fits his skill set.

It's not complicated.

Y'all know if Conner got paid full NIL money for this year? Whatever he was paid, we can now use those allocated dollars elsewhere.

I am curious how the staff let CW down. There seems to be a lot of speculation and finger pointing but no actual facts. Seems to be several factors that not everyone knows (injury, confidence, etc) the full extent or reasons behind. I wish CW the best, but it was clear his time here was at its end.

Some may not like this but no! He should stay at A&M and work his ass off and come back mad as hell and play like a man on fire! Hate to see him go! Any way, good luck to Connor. Will always be supportive. Gig 'Em.

You refused to watch an Aggie football game on TV because they wore black uniforms. I don't put anything past you

I have a feeling that he ends up kicking butt at the new school. He didn't seem the same after the injury but I think it's something a great coach can fix.

I am going to root for him to reach his full potential in CFB and play in the NFL. I am going to root for him even if he plays the Aggies as long as we still win. Good luck CW.

I have worked with many people and veterans with PTSD. All of them needed a new venue to start over again.

"Per On3's Pete Nakos, Syracuse, Missouri, Iowa, Louisville and Wisconsin are teams to watch for Weigman in the transfer portal. None of these five teams will be competing in their conference championship or the College Football Playoff and are now looking to build for next season, starting with the quarterback position."

I'm confused why people are convinced we shouldn't have made the switch. They gave him a chance during NMSU and it was an immediate pick. Hard to find reasons to have kept him on the field, other than wishful thinking.

I'll agree that something just wasn't clicking with him and I wish him well in his future endeavors. I was really rooting for Haynes King last week, hopefully I will get to root for CW in a big game next year, unless it is against the Ags of course.

He'll go to another football program and play his best football at the college level successfully. Good luck kid. It's too bad this offensive system just didn't work out.

He has a lot more class in him then all the posters that were saying some of the most vile things about him when they didn't like his results on the field. Still embarrassed that those posts were allowed to stay up for as long as they did.

I hope #15 kills it next year wherever he might land.

How is this different from "losing your starting position and quiting the team"?

If I recall, so.e other players were met with a "good riddance".

They didn't pull Reed when he threw a pick during the first drive against SC. That's really the issue I have with how it was handled. Weigman played flawlessly in one our best wins. He played poorly in a game and a half. Reed played very well against UF and LSU. He wasn't very effective in multiple games (shut out for a half against SC, 300 yards total yards against Ark, 250 total yards against tu with a bad interception early). So, if we can pull Weigman when he's not effective, why couldn't we pull Reed for the same reason. The message they sent Weigman before the SC game was clear…you're finished here. That was a bad move and probably wrecked the season.

New GF? That's a weird comment. He's been dating the same one the entire time from HS and my understanding she's a good girl.

Uh… I think the weird comment is how much you know about a college kids dating life…

I think it eventually came down to who was better at running for their life behind that OL…

I'm rooting for Conner and I hope he turns it around at his next stop. He clearly has the skillset to succeed. But anyone who watched the ND, LSU and NMSU games and thought that it was the only scheme that was causing him to struggle needs to get their heads checked. Something was clearly off, and the stakes were too high to sit back idly and hope he fixed it on the field. It's no surprise that he transferred after that. But the only right answer here is to wish him the best and wish things had gone differently.

If he chooses the right coach,I bet he gets his MOJO back. Something happened to him mentally and the change of scenery will be good.

IMO this is 90% on Addazio. A 3A Texas HS coach could have coached our OL talent well enough to let Weigman do much better (including much lower chance of getting injured) in Jimbo's O.

I think the other 10% is on Klein for not being adaptive enough to leverage Weigman's talent. But, when there's regime change, unfortunately, coach-inherited talent mismatches like this are prone to happening. Still, the more *s there are on the talent side, the more you expect the coach to be able to adjust.

The whole etiology of Weigman's time here is IMO worth studying as a typical example of what our program consistently gets wrong. I believe it goes much deeper than Conner just getting lost in coaching turnover.
