Thank you Conner Weigman for being a good Aggie and great team player. Best of luck wherever you transfer to.

He is a class act with a ton of talent. Something caused the plateau and none of us will ever understand why.
It's been disappointing to see all the rumors, criticism, mocking and second guessing from many on this site. Most who have likely never played football or other competitive sports and many who have not played at the collegiate level. But hey, everyone gets an opinion.
There are a lot of TexAgs posters who need to experience life; and get a look behind the scenes to see why people sometimes have setbacks. e.g. cancer, family loss, mental issues, stress, financial struggles, etc.
#15, go do great things. Praying for a successful life for you Connor! Thanks for your contributions and time in Aggieland! Gig em!
The ridicule has been disappointing. We're talking about a guy that basically had his foot broken in half and showed up for spring practice every day with a limp so he could be prepared for this season. I could see the need to make a change but I'll always feel like it was a mistake to make the change permanent regardless of how well Reed was performing. And we rode it to a 1-3 finish while playing ourselves right out of a chance for the playoffs. I hope he finds a more appropriate offense and has success.

I wish I knew the real story behind him transferring. There's more to this than a simple transfer, there's more here than meets the eye! .

I am curious how the staff let CW down. There seems to be a lot of speculation and finger pointing but no actual facts. Seems to be several factors that not everyone knows (injury, confidence, etc) the full extent or reasons behind. I wish CW the best, but it was clear his time here was at its end.phx-ag86 said:
Sorry the staff let you down young man, it could have and should have worked out.
Some may not like this but no! He should stay at A&M and work his ass off and come back mad as hell and play like a man on fire! Hate to see him go! Any way, good luck to Connor. Will always be supportive. Gig 'Em.Crispin Torque said:

All wiggy needs is some confidence. All of his play this year was in his head
You refused to watch an Aggie football game on TV because they wore black uniforms. I don't put anything past you
This. He's gonna have a great career at a school that isn't cursed.Dad said:
I have a feeling that he ends up kicking butt at the new school. He didn't seem the same after the injury but I think it's something a great coach can fix.

I'm confused why people are convinced we shouldn't have made the switch. They gave him a chance during NMSU and it was an immediate pick. Hard to find reasons to have kept him on the field, other than wishful thinking.

New GF? That's a weird comment. He's been dating the same one the entire time from HS and my understanding she's a good girl.

They didn't pull Reed when he threw a pick during the first drive against SC. That's really the issue I have with how it was handled. Weigman played flawlessly in one our best wins. He played poorly in a game and a half. Reed played very well against UF and LSU. He wasn't very effective in multiple games (shut out for a half against SC, 300 yards total yards against Ark, 250 total yards against tu with a bad interception early). So, if we can pull Weigman when he's not effective, why couldn't we pull Reed for the same reason. The message they sent Weigman before the SC game was clear…you're finished here. That was a bad move and probably wrecked the season.
I'm rooting for Conner and I hope he turns it around at his next stop. He clearly has the skillset to succeed. But anyone who watched the ND, LSU and NMSU games and thought that it was the only scheme that was causing him to struggle needs to get their heads checked. Something was clearly off, and the stakes were too high to sit back idly and hope he fixed it on the field. It's no surprise that he transferred after that. But the only right answer here is to wish him the best and wish things had gone differently.tjburns said:

How about everyone stay outta kids personal lives.
"Numerous recruiting insiders and people I've talked with believe Conner Weigman's likely destination is the University of Houston to play for Willie Fritz."
