We will have to see. Klein needs a QB similar to himself to have an offense that scares good defenses. Big, physical and can get you 1-2 yards almost at will. Then you can take body blows up the middle and hit plays downfield.

Define modern football. I mean Auburn won a NC doing this a decade ago (yes, Cam was a generational talent, but that was their offense). N Dakota St won for most of the past decade doing this in FCS. Hell, Georgia Tech did it to Georgia last night. South Carolina seems to have a formula that works now as well.

Texas was more physical and won the game. It was right there for every player in maroon to see. Credit the Aggies for fighting hard the 2nd half, but they were outmanned. Nothing to do but get better. We had to play perfect to win, and they did not. Clear as day.

Good point. I believe Klein orchestrated Reed's taking the reins because he wanted someone mobile at QB. Then, when he got him, he didn't utilize his running ability. But, we're talking about a guy that's so dumb, he apparently only has one short yardage play that never works.

And you still didn't define 'modern football'. Does Florida with Tebow count? What about Bama with Hurts (Jalen didn't learn to throw left until he got B12 defenses)?

Followed this pgm. since the mid-50's and I would argue we weren't always overmatched in the recent losses. Were perhaps outcoached, but for the most part we just plainly crapped the bed. One of our infamous traditions, I guess. Getting where I don't care anymore and have begun to tune out early, knowing the predictable outcome.

My two friends and I were among the 109,028 at the game for the 3rd most in Kyle Field history. The only points we scored was on a pick-6. Otherwise, we would have gotten blown out 20-0. We did not score a single offensive point because we passed on makable filed goals twice. As a result, we have lost 3 consecutive SEC games to finish 8-4 (5-3 SEC). In contrast, Texas finished 11-1 (7-1 SEC) to reach the SEC Championship Game in their first year in the SEC. Also, Texas has won 11 consecutive road game since a 41-34 loss at Oklahoma State on 10/22/2022. I noticed several other trends.

1. Texas snapped our 5-game home winning streak to drop our home record to 5-2. We lost at home for the first time since a 23-13 loss to Notre Dame on 8/31, 13 weeks or 91 days ago.

2. Texas has won 2 straight games against us and 13 of their last 18 games against us.

3. Texas has won 3 straight games and 6 of their last 7 games at Kyle Field since 2001.

4. Texas A&M loses 4+ games for the 24th time in 26 years since winning the Big 12 Championship Game in 1998. The only exceptions were when we finished 11-2 (6-2 SEC) in 2012 and 9-1 (8-1 SEC) in 2020.
