Why does this defense suck so bad early in games? I know Elko and Co. make adjustments, but why don't they ever come in with a good gameplan?

Lineman was also pulling him over which you're not allowed to do. You can push them in but not pull them in from in front.
9 of their 10 plays generated positive yards. Not to mention the poor kickoff coverage. Couldn't start worse in defense.
