it was a joke. I was friends with a bunch of d-bag frat boys back in the day. I'm still friends with a number of them today. and i'd still jokingly call them d-bags. i also went to mulitple frat parties when i was at a&m. The percentage of idiots in frats tends to be higher than the general population, but there are still plenty of good dudes in fraternities. Hell, my best man was a frat guy (not at a&m) and he was/is a total jackass.

Not judging you specifically, but there is a cult like mentality in some Ags who get their panties in a wad over the topic.

Back in the prehistoric era when I was a student, we didn't have fraternities or sororities. We always said (and believed) we didn't need them, because just being an Aggie was the best that you can be ! And, being all Aggies, there wasn't any need for any of the competition or BS crap put on by the fraternities or sororities...... we were just "fellow Aggies" ! - - - -

Probably where we got that catchy phrase "We are the Aggies, the Aggies are we", and beyond that there is no need for any other descriptors such as SAE. Anyway, I thought SAE was just writing on the side of an oil can, to promote the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). Huh, learn something every day !

When I was in school I hated frats…mostly becatse I couldn't afford to join. The irony is that I formed a band that eventually got booked by all the frats several times a year. So I got all the benefits of being in the fraternities, but they paid me.

Was texting with some HS friends who went to tu and visited me when I lived in Moses. They still have PTSD from the restroom with toilets lined up around the room with zero privacy.

And after bonfire, having to shower in the group shower room that was filled up with cold muddy water because a bunch of dumbasses took all their muddy boots off in the shower and it clogged up the drain.

When I was a Texas A&M student from 2013-2017, I never camped out for ticket pulls. I have done some student ticket pulls, but I never waited more than 2 hours. I understand the tradition, thrill, and dedication of camping out for ticket pulls, but it got extremely chaotic that Texas A&M EMS responded to 9 calls for service in the ticket pull area on Monday morning. Three students were transported due to generally not feeling well.
