The penalties shouldn't be such an issue. And, S Turner needs ride the pine for a while. Yeah he's good, but is a head case.

565 yards on offense sucks

We're gonna win 10 or more games this season.
Sheesh.

Offense without Moss is like pulling teeth.
Also, please no more Weigman. He's done for.
Defense is solid, but may break if constantly exposed.

The Auburn game looms large right now. I would expect teams to focus on stopping the run and force us to pass but, without Moss, just how much focus on the run is required remains debatable. Hopefully the combination of Daniels and Reed will be enough because beyond that, what we have is hardly threatening. I was hoping to at least get a glimpse of another alternative but that didnt happen.
Plus, after Weigman's showing, the notion that he could come off the bench and light up a defense overplaying the run seems to have gone up in smoke. O'Neil looked good but I'm not excited at the prospect of a guy with 6 passes against NMSU to be able to carry the offense down the stretch. Our coaches definitely have their hands full.

Oklahoma won at Auburn and their offense is much worse then ours even without Moss.
The Auburn game will be primarily won by our defense showing up to play (or not) and our offense not making big mistakes with turnovers. Our defense shows up and gets after them then 20-24 points will be enough to win.

Once you've established the other team cannot beat you, you spend the rest of it as the best live practice you'll ever have - putting your guys in non-comfortable situations against a live opponent in a live stadium and seeing how they perform; seeing how they line up, seeing how the respond to coaching, and work on plays that might make the difference against Auburn and those dirty sips.
You could let Reed run 40 option reads and let him and Daniels each rush for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns, but what does that do for your next week and the week after?

I thought that WAS our weakness!Quote:

Better keep working….

If he could get the long ball down, this offense will look very different. The ball he threw against LSU was perfection, but he missed multiple yesterday.
Like the wrinkle finding the TE's. Long Ball accuracy still needs work. (That's where Wegman is/was better.)vander54 said:

Or they're blocking because our Oline can't hold their own in pass pro against SEC dlines.Sparkie said:they can't get separation against sec defendersPlanetAggie said:
Our Tight Ends looked great tonight. Never understood why we don't use them more.
My only point is that is why quite a few on here are disappointed in the offensive output. If you missed the 1st Q you'd think we looked pretty crappy on offense vs a team that is in the bottom 10 of all of FBS. Elko obviously not going for style points, in favor of playing as many guys as possible.vander54 said:
Your point?
We were in control and it eas obvious after the second drive when we started pulling starters and playing backups. We chose to keep Reed in the pocket and make him throw as well as work on getting EJ some touches. If we had played our normal game we eaisly would had been up by at least 30 at half time.
Reading too much into what we did on offense on this game is really dumb.
