Answer?
Bill Superman said:
We would be favored to easily beat at least 5 of the teams ranked ahead of us.

Really? 5? On a neutral field? What 5? SMU definitely. Probably Boise State. Maybe BYU. I don't think we are viewed as good as you think we are. At home, maybe favored against 5, but definitely not to the point that it is expected we "easily beat" them.
Who is BYU's best win? Hell, how many games have they played against teams currently in the top 25?TexAggie1999 said:Bill Superman said:

Indiana nearly folded against the first team they played all year with decent talent, and that team is one of the worst offensive teams in the country. Indiana would have 3-4 losses in the SEC.vander54 said:TexAggie1999 said:Bill Superman said:

Pick'em
Indiana
Miami
SMU
Slight favorite
BYU
Favorite
Boise State
So it's possible to be favored over 5 teams ranked ahead of us and really it's possuble it could be more considering the analysis are not perfect.
At home we'd be favored over 6 or 7 at least.

Miami would have 3-4 losses if they even had to play 2 of the top 4 ACC teams.
BYU would be smoked by us. They would be annihilated in the trenches by even our backups.
Boise State would be interesting, as they held up well against Oregon. But Oregon at the beginning season is a far different team than the one today. Boise State wouldn't last 4 quarters today against a team with talent in the trenches.
SMU similar to Boise State.
I would favor us by 7-10 points over ever single one of those teams.

BYU almost loses, really should count as having lost, to an unranked Utah team and doesn't drop in the polls at all. That is both dumb and inexcusible. The playoffs rankings are supposed to be better than this juvenile farce, but somehow I am not confident in what we see on Tuesday.

Who has Penn state even played outside of Ohio State?
Who has Miami played?
SMU?
Indiana has played one team with less than 5 losses. And that team has 4 losses.
Boise State has played one team that's relevant in the top 50 and lost.
Texas has played 1 team in the top 25 and were spanked. Best win is 4 loss Vandy.
Yes, we would probably beat half the teams ahead of us. The overwhelming majority have only had to play 1 game against halfway decent competition. The ones that have an argument to be ahead of us are Oregon Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Notre Dame (though I think we beat them with Reed), and Tennessee. Ohio State gets some benefit for at least having played two quality opponents, though Penn State likely has 3-4 losses with our schedule.

Are we the only team to drop in the poll after both bye weeks?
