I get what he's getting at. But that kinda felt like 10 minutes of pat on the head and "know your role and shut your mouth"
I cannot stand that we made them look as good as they did. When we know better.

To be honest we have not beaten anyone who is very good. If LSU beats Alabama I'll feel better about the LSU win, but they also lost to USC.

Mizzou straight up sucks.
SC is good but should never beat us 44-20.

If we go 9-3 with a loss to t.u. what do we really know other than we won the games we should have?

I see where y'all are coming from, but there's a fine line between 'learning from losses' and 'settling for mediocrity.' If we're talking about building for the future, then sure, a tough loss can be a wake-up call, but it has to come with noticeable changes on the field, in the playbook, and in the mindset. Are we seeing enough of that? The frustration comes from seeing the same issues pop up again and again. Losing is only constructive if it leads to meaningful growth, otherwise, it's just more wasted potential.

In college football there is no future, only the current game. And Elko and company screwed the pooch, big time.

Indiana still hasn't faced a team on Missouri's level. Texas got smoked in their only game against a ranked team and barely beat 3-loss Vandy in a non-hostile environment. They literally haven't beaten anyone. If you're going to argue our wins don't matter, then half the teams ahead of us have no wins that matter and a quarter of them haven't even played against a decent team.

Settling for mediocrity would be trying to spin a loss to Auburn. right now, we control our own destiny for both a conference title and national title. In week 11. The loss to SC was disappointing, but nobody is settling for mediocrity when this coaching staff has proven multiple times that bad performances don't compound. If they do start to compound, then we can melt down and talk about BAS. Until then, yes, this was a learning experience, and we are as of now not settling for mediocrity.

This loss is the excuse they need to keep us out of anything that matters even if we somehow win out which we won't if that level of garbage play is where we're at now, Sip will absolutely boat race us on Thanksgiving

We may or may not beat Texas. And making excuses for losses and trying to spin moral victories is pretty lame. But…

What about their team shows they will boat race us at Kyle field? Our defense hadn't given up more than 24 all year. If we continue to play the way we did against South Carolina, we may get boat raced. But that looked more like the anomaly for our defense than the norm we should expect the rest of the year. Especially at Kyle field

Most here predicted 7-5 or 8-4. Some 9-3's sprinkled in. We are setting up for 8-4 at worst, 9-3 possible, and 10-2 not far fetched. And people are absolutely cliff diving. Why? Because a team that has outperformed their expectations was now expected to be perfect. College football is a crazy sport, especially in this era. Yes, we looked like crap. Yes, we dropped a chance to have a historic season. Yes, our margin of error is thinner. But we are going into Week 11 in complete control of our own destiny. Not even 2012 could say that. And we can STILL have a special, historic season.

Get back on the bus, realize that **** happens sometimes, and put some faith in the coaching staff to use this as a learning experience and get the team even better. If we lose to Auburn, I'll meltdown with you. If we get blown out by sip, I'll meltdown with you. But we still have EVERYTHING to play for. And we've shown time and time again this season that we make adjustments and learn from mistakes. There is no evidence Saturday's performance will be repeated. Otherwise, we'd have more than 2 losses right now.

Great post.

So far, we have overachieved expectations which causes people to melt down more than they should have for our 2nd loss. Granted, the way we played against South Carolina hurts more than even just a simple loss. It's concerning, and a set back, but the program is ahead of schedule at this point

In college football, every game is an isolated event. The season is not over, nor does the performance against SC have any bearing on what could happen the rest of the way. We still have everything we want in front of us.

I've said it before, but if people think our first natty will be a result of running the board are disillusioned. It will come with ups and downs, adversity and moments of despair. Similar to our current situation…..

It's not that we lost - It's that we didn't show up on defense in what should have been a phenomenal match up for us (our D vs their O).

The frustrating part is that we did something that we havent done all year - get bullied on defense by a really bad offense.

Teams that held USCe offense in check better than we did:

Old Dominion
LSU
Kentucky
Ole Miss
Oklahoma
Alabama

Texas A&M -44 points allowed
Akron -50 points allowed

Its frustrating a d disappointing, I get it. I feel that way about it, too

But the silver lining is we still have everything to play for: all of our goals are still on the table. if we just go 3-0 vs 1 cream puff, 1 team that likely wont make a bowl game and our bitter rival in the craziest atmosphere Kyle has maybe ever had we will be in Atlanta

I like our chances

Sellers is a freshmen. It also could be that he is finally coming into his own and the college game is slowing down for him. Let's see how he finishes. Kid may be the real deal and emerging.

Disagree. This season is/was a chance at something truly special. Losing on the road to SCar sucks regardless, but would at least be understandable if it was close. Getting blown the **** out is not ok when the stakes were as high as they were

It was close. Down 10 with the ball and 5:00 left is still in the game. Not as close as 7 down with the ball and 2:00 left like with ND, but still in it. Even if barely. The endings of both got out of hand, but it was after they were lost. The issue was we couldn't move the ball when we needed to. Moss would've helped greatly against SC and Reed with ND. They're loses, but the scores don't reflect the chances we had.

That said, with two RBs, 2 OL, and a corner/safety out, not sure we can beat tu. But we're home, so I'm hopeful.

The team seems to be overall playing up whereas they played down a lot in the past. I like that direction.

Maroon Dawn and his coterie of harpies. Our team has more heart and ability than that. Losing Lev is the major constraint, however. The game turned against us when he went down. That and over coaching of the DL.
