We needed this loss to build for the future. Quit clutching y'all's pearls when we drop a bad game.

This loss is the excuse they need to keep us out of anything that matters even if we somehow win out which we won't if that level of garbage play is where we're at now, Sip will absolutely boat race us on Thanksgiving

Disagree. This season is/was a chance at something truly special. Losing on the road to SCar sucks regardless, but would at least be understandable if it was close. Getting blown the **** out is not ok when the stakes were as high as they were

so if we win our next 3 game make the sec championship and in the process knock little brother out that wouldn't be a special season? cause all of thise things happen if we go 3-0 over the next 4 weeks.

We didn't need this.... We got pantsed after a big win the week before.

This isn't a new experience for our program - we've been doing it every year for the past 2 decades.

Dude, I share the same sentiment but we've been doing it longer than that. Its more like for the better part of the last 65 years. Sure there are a few periods where that was not the case but BAS exists for a reason. The only loss that comes to mind that was on this scale, with so much to play for, was back in 1975 during the Bellard era when the #1 undefeated Texas A&M Aggies, fresh off whipping the sips on Thanksgiving, go to Arky for a game that was rescheduled for TV and lose in a grand fashion 31-6.
I know NOTHING!!!!

We now have to win out. A win over SC and we would still have gotten in the playoffs with a loss against sip.

Not sure how every Ag doesn't get this.

I strongly disagree. Y'all were getting pressure on Sellers all night, he was just big and mobile enough to shake it off. Ewers can use his legs but not in a meaningful enough way to counteract y'all's pass rush and lately has been holding on to the ball way too long. Manning is much more mobile but absolutely no way is he ready for the powder keg that Kyle Field will be, even if Sark rolls the dice and puts him in I predict another shot of him and Ewers on the bench looking like they did 5 tours in Vietnam, just like when we played Georgia. Y'all are a good team that had a bad game against a team that played a great game and had some help from the officiating. I really hope I'm wrong as most of my in-laws are Aggie grads/fans, one of them is a former contributor here on TexAgs and I would love to not hear about it for the next year but I feel awful about Texas' chance in this game.

Most here predicted 7-5 or 8-4. Some 9-3's sprinkled in. We are setting up for 8-4 at worst, 9-3 possible, and 10-2 not far fetched. And people are absolutely cliff diving. Why? Because a team that has outperformed their expectations was now expected to be perfect. College football is a crazy sport, especially in this era. Yes, we looked like crap. Yes, we dropped a chance to have a historic season. Yes, our margin of error is thinner. But we are going into Week 11 in complete control of our own destiny. Not even 2012 could say that. And we can STILL have a special, historic season.

Get back on the bus, realize that **** happens sometimes, and put some faith in the coaching staff to use this as a learning experience and get the team even better. If we lose to Auburn, I'll meltdown with you. If we get blown out by sip, I'll meltdown with you. But we still have EVERYTHING to play for. And we've shown time and time again this season that we make adjustments and learn from mistakes. There is no evidence Saturday's performance will be repeated. Otherwise, we'd have more than 2 losses right now.

What is quite bothersome is the defense contributed to SC's "Heisman" like performances over and over again. I waited for adjustments in the second half. However, the defense was fundamentally broken without a fix.

lol - no they're not.

If we win out, we're in the CFP, 100%

If we win out, we're also more likely than not in the SEC championship game.

All that losing this game did was basically require us to beat tu to not have to need help with either of those goals. Had we won, there was a world in which we were locked in to the SEC championship game before we even play tu. That's gone.

But no, a 10-2 A&M team, going to the SEC championship (and winning OR losing) is going to the CFP.

Also, if we go 10-2, the only SEC teams that could be tied with us are UGA, Tennessee and LSU (we'd be giving tu their 2nd loss in that case). We hold the direct tie breaker over LSU because we beat them. We hold the tiebreaker (with LSU) over UT because we'd have beaten all common opponents along with LSU while UT lost to Arkie.

Seriously, all this loss did was make it unlikely we get to the playoff of sec championship with a loss to tu. That's it

Now you can debate whether or not we are capable of winning out, but that has nothing to do with this particular loss.

Glad I don't have to watch a game next to this guy. I know how this reverse thinking works and most annoying fans to watch sports with. *****ing and moaning about negativity the entire game.

I was barely upset after that game. Disappointed but not upset. We have already exceeded expectations and have a bright future under Elko.

This is exactly right. Many people picked SC to upset so losing was not as big of an issue as how we lost. Worst game we have played in close to a decade.

This needs to be said more. We had 7 penalties before they had 1. We may have gotten away with some others but that doesn't make up for not flagging SC.

Oh and by the way- of the 3 SC penalties, 2 were kicks out of bounds and the other was a delay of game. So it was effectively 7 to 0

AND THE COCKS WERE AVERAGING 7.5 PENALTIES PER GAME

In a vacuum that sounds great. If you'd told every one of us that we'd be 7-2 at this point and still in the hunt for a playoff spot, 100% of us would have taken that with open arms.

But that's missing a lot of context. We were 7-1. We had a mulligan in our hip pocket. And we went out there Sat and pissed that away. In the truest Aggie fashion. We didn't just lose, we were humiliated. Didn't even look like we belonged on the same field for disturbingly large chunks of that game. What could (SHOULD) have been a shoo in to the playoff is now down to a backs against the wall scenario. Guess we'll find out who we really are those last two weeks

Close to a decade? With the possible exception of UCLA (where at least we were capable of slowing down the opponent for a majority of the game), I'd have to go back to 77-0 to think of one more humiliating

No like literally it was 2016 when we last missed that many tackles according to PFF

But then you throw in the penalties and I'm thinking back to 2014 Tuscaloosa 59-0
