Bingo! We have a winner. I don't understand why people read the Texags football forum, especially when the team loses a game. It's like they are searching for something to get upset about. It's a FAN forum and every single team has one just like it.

I turned the game off late in the third quarter. No reason to let a bunch of paid mercenaries with more opportunities for upward mobility due to their sheer athleticism than 95% of the population get you all riled up.

Look at Alabama and Saban. They are the standard. For those laughing at me about New Mexico State. Bama/Saban took every game as a test. 60 minutes, Every Saturday. Against LSU or La Monroe. Whether up by 50 or down by 3, execute and play for a full 60 minutes.

Go look up Bama vs Georgia Southern 2011. They gave up 300 yards rushing to GaSo in Tuscaloosa. That 2011 team had an NFL defensive talent. And they couldn't stop them to save their lives. S*** happens.

Not too worried about UNM: it's Auburn on the road, and t.u. at home. The "display" (or lack thereof) at USC showed Ags were outcoached versus USC: defense horrid on tackling, and our OC can't call any plays to get us points in 2nd half. Got some time to fix but work needs to be done...

SC is nowhere near Georgia level, and we're, obviously, nowhere near Texas level.

A great team losing to a great team is one thing. A great (on paper) team has no right to play as poorly as we did again an inferior team.

Yes, it was just one game, but the Ags are notorious for these "just one game" performances. Cocks regressed us to the mean. CFP talk was delusional, but it's still been a pretty decent year. Unfortunately, "pretty decent" seems to be our ceiling.

It's probably beneficial to a 19-20 QB for the fans to stay out of his head. As for the rest, suck it up and play better.

A heavy dose of reality from fandom will probably light a fire on the defense.

Sips will go their entire first season in the SEC without a tough road night game, or barely even a tough road game (unless you count us).

The university has no interest in winning a natty. The sooner y'all realize this and accept it, the sooner the losses won't affect you. We've got an absurd amount of resources without winning anything. Our fans are loyal. The juice isn't worth the squeeze for the university to want a natty.

I have begun to believe this, unfortunately. They're making $ whether we win or not.

Lots of people on this board have been donating, waiting, and watching for decades for A&M men's sports to win something in the major 3 sports.

Elko may turn things around. Jury is still out on that.

And for those who keep asking why this happens to us, I think we have problems at the top, a culture problem if you will. (see Jerry Jones for an example of the kind of thing I'm getting at)

Calling it a season and planning for the Texas Bowl or whatever is dumb.

And remember, we have 3 weeks to shore up those weaknesses. It works both ways.

These threads are the result of fragile egos coping in real time. Our team lost, but you can't accept that and have to have a win somewhere. Only other option is to choose a moral/virtuous victory over anonymous people on a football forum. That is why you only see these types of threads after a brutal loss
