Tackling is important.

1. Unless we plan on extending a coaching offer to Jesus Christ, there will never be a football game that is perfectly called. Unfortunately, elko had a pretty bad game tonight. The whole team was unprepared, especially the defense. However, it's laughable seeing the stoops and Jimbo supporters out on the forum every time elko does something questionable. LOL at whatever thought process that is. We have a guy that is going to look at his mistakes and fix them, not twiddle his thumbs and blame his players.
2. We were always going to need the defense to win the game for us and they did the latter. Very dissapointing. Establishing a run game and offense that was able to extend drives, without Moss, made this very hard.
3. This game and our last one are two great examples of a home field advantage. Willie B is a rowdy place and the cocks were ready for us. Unfortunately, we brought an C- game that gets brought down to an F in these situations, just like the 12th man did against LSU last week.
4. SCAR does this to teams every year. Remember Tennessee in 2022 going in there and getting boat raced 63-28? Welcome to the fun. They are a good team that has lost some very close games against opponents better than us, and being desperate for a win at this time was not boding well for us.
5. There's lots of football still left. Win out and we have a great start to Elkos tenure here, playoffs or not. Anybody drinking the kool aid last week is a bit naive- we are a flawed but scrappy team that has found ways to win. Sometimes those teams get their ass kicked, it's a part of football, and a sign of a team that is bought in and willing to be coached to the next level.

Hasn't fixed the tackling problem since the first game of the season. Thought that should be higher on his list. Think he might finally work on it this week? It's kind of important in football.

I don't really get the point of the OP. Maybe he has seen some posts disparaging players, or coaches. Not a fan of that but I think it is completely valid to recognize that we sucked and there is no sunshine, no silver lining, no anything about losing 44-20 and giving up over 500 yards of offense. It's okay to be critical when it's warranted.

OP sounds like f16 when someone dares to criticize Trump. They laid an egg, OP. They got bullied on the d-line. They couldn't tackle. They couldn't pass down field. This loss likely knocked them out of the playoffs and gives us a bowl game of second string/non-portal players against someone else's second string/non-portal players. Defend that with "It's just one game".

Don't get what?

Look at Alabama and Saban. They are the standard. For those laughing at me about New Mexico State. Bama/Saban took every game as a test. 60 minutes, Every Saturday. Against LSU or La Monroe. Whether up by 50 or down by 3, execute and play for a full 60 minutes.

Go look up Bama vs Georgia Southern 2011. They gave up 300 yards rushing to GaSo in Tuscaloosa. That 2011 team had an NFL defensive talent. And they couldn't stop them to save their lives. S*** happens.

Oh and that 2011 Bama team won the national championship. Good teams get beat down sometimes. If your standard is to play perfect football 16-0, win every game by 60 - your expectations are unrealistic.
