DJ Hicks had some "wow" plays where he just flat out bullied their guard. Dude played a great game. The interior DL is so good on this team but are rarely given the spotlight due to the nature of their job. But wow I was impressed a lot.

Moss is a bad bad bad man. Even in the first half, those runs were mean.

Some really suspect flags. Like the off-the-ball facemask that I felt was ticky tack to call. But that's how it goes.

Finally, anyone saying that LSU gave this game away did not pay attention. This team didn't catch any breaks in the first half but continued to battle and force LSU into uncomfortable positions. Say what you want about the missed FGs, but that's what happens when you make a guy kick at his career long.

As for the INTs, LSU fans wanna talk about how Nuss pooped the bed making those throws but pat him on the back when he makes the same risky throw on 3rd and 15 and converts. Nuss turns the ball over due to his attitude towards making a play, but that's also why he makes the plays he does. Credit Elko and Bateman for adjusting to what LSU was doing and dominating this game.

LSU scored 23 points. 7 from a short field after a fluke fumble. 7 from a single explosive play from Aaron Anderson.

So only 9 points where they had hard fought offensive drives with the last six points being already down by multiple scores. Not exactly an incredible dominating performance people would have you believe.

LSU got beat. They were not on the same level as us and it showed. We could adjust. They were incapable of doing so.

That is all.

LSU couldn't run the ball or stop the run. They averaged 1 yard per rush and gave up 5 yards per rush. They also lost the turnover battle.

Losing the game when that happens is not a fluke, and they didn't give the game away. LSU got beat.

You're right about dj hicks. He had one stunt where he decleated supposed high draft pick Emory jones.
He also bench pressed the guard into the backfield on another play blowing it up.
Hicks is really coming on, like a lot of our players.

Dewberry looks like he's barely jogging, very heavy footed. Maybe conditioning is an issue.

On the Dj Hicks note…

One thing I loved about Elko's defenses in the past was how the front 7 and the D-line in particular really improved and gelled as the season went on. Each week they got stronger and became so much more disruptive! Hicks, Turner, Regis, and Johnson in the interior are a brick wall and each week they'll be more and more difficult to run through! Then you have Scourton and Turner blowing up and sealing the edge, Cashius Howell and Rylan Kennedy on 3rd and long packages… this D-Line is absolutely ridiculous

I was at the game and it sure seemed like we were getting beat pretty good in 1st half. I agree when rewatching it seemed not nearly as bad but I think that is because we now know the outcome. We could do nothing on offense and we may have forced them to punt once in 1st half. They moved the ball through the air at will. If they make 2 FGs then 23-7 is a completely different game than 17-7.
We were getting very little pass rush and they were killing us with just 4 down. I personally believe they borderline dominated 1st half

Moss will weeble and wobble but he won't fall down. You can tell he's been in the gym
Give me the guy who shoots for excellence and fails over the guy who shoots for mediocrity and succeeds.

I was also at the game and it felt like that. But those were right at his career long. In my opinion, your kicker is not reliably expected to make those. Now factor in the fact that it's on the road and that's a coaching decision that needs to be made.

Kickers are part of the team. So saying "if only they would've made those kicks" is like saying "if only Conner was hitting his throws."

I don't buy into the notion that missed FGs is detracts from the win of the Aggies like so many people have mentioned.

Said another way: we were the more physical team.

And when you say that after playing LSU, that's saying something. It's the biggest factor of improvement I've seen this year.
