What? A RS freshman, you say?

He's missed 44.4% of his passes this year. And I don't think we should be cutting him any slack for not performing against BG, regardless of it being his 3rd start. If any other QB did that against BG and followed it up with a similar performance to the Arky game, the zoo would be furious.

I feel like I'm in Moneyball: "If he's a good passer, why doesn't he pass good?"

I think all we're trying to say is that we should expect Arky/BG Reed (assuming SC's DC has a brain), a nail-biter in Columbia, and that we should not count our chickens just yet

That's why I'm fine if Conner gets the start, Reid is a freshman with heisman potential, I believe Nick Saban once said, never put a quarterback out there a second too early.

I'm ok with either because both have their flaws and I trust Elko

My reason for wanting Marcel this week is that we should be running an Army esc offense.

Rarely passing, avoiding their pass rush and pounding the rock.

Weigman plays to their strength

Is there any chance, at all, that a player can improve over the course of a season?

Conner is an amazing passer but there seems to be issues with the mental side of things

They will target our freshman left guard and put pressure on the quarterback. Who can handle it the best.

BG was his 2nd start. You can't even get that one right is telling.

You're right, it was his 2nd start. I was thinking of the bowl game where Reed played all but like 1 offensive snap.

Not material to my point though- whether it's a QB's 3rd game logging major snaps or his 50th, if he's good, he'd have good offensive production against BG. Reed didn't. If Conner started that game and logged stats like Reed's, you'd be chief ringleader of the pitchfork-and-torches mob ready to guillotine Conner. At least acknowledge that Reed has underperformed against bad competition. The data supports this conclusion.

Rest assured that myself and many others on this board are reveling in our monster defense and Brian Kelly/his team's stupidity that allowed us to take 1st place in the SEC. It's awesome that we'll probably make it to 9-3 this year at a minimum. It's awesome that we have a serious shot to get to the SEC championship and maybe even win it.

But you need to put down the opium pipe on Reed. What do you think his stat line will be tomorrow if he starts?

Would be nice to see how in-touch with reality you are. Maybe I'll have to eat crow. Would love it if that was the case

Playing similar to the lamar Jackson we saw in the bowl game.
Marcel could develop into a superstar quarterback over the next couple years.
Why are we still acting like Conner is the one with all the potential?
Reeds upside is way higher than Conners at this point.

Klein's offensive strategy also meshes very well with Reed's abilities. Future looks very bright and it is great to have two good-great QBs on the roster.

I do think Connor has a better arm, but he needs to get out of his own head.
