Sorry for the long post. I was looking at ticket prices for the tu game and the way things are shaping up, I can't imagine there will ever be more demand for a game than this. If there was ever a time to sell every single standing room only ticket possible, this is it. So I wonder, how many can they actually sell? I assume there are some kind of fire code restrictions, correct? Also, I thought someone here at some point mentioned after the renovation that there was room in the design for further expansion. Would there be enough room in the corners of the upper deck concourse to put in some temporary bleachers or something? I was also wondering what the "official" capacity is after they put the suites in the south end zone a couple of years ago. Just curious. Thanks and gig 'em!

Kyle Field's largest game attendance was 110,633 people when Texas A&M lost to the Ole Miss by the score of 35-20 on October 11, 2014. The official capacity of the stadium at the time was 106,511.

Don't think they'd be able to top that attendance record, but it's possible. In 2014, they hadn't torn down the west side of Kyle Field yet. That side had a larger capacity than the current iteration of the west side of Kyle Field with it's large luxury suites, etc. Now the official capacity is 102,733. They came close to the mark against Auburn in 2021 with 109,835 people. Maybe, it's only 800 more people.

Nope. 110,633 vs Ol' Miss in '14, stadium renovation was not complete.

SRO? Where do they stand? Only concourse area is south 2nd deck & not much room there.

I know they have put SRO behind the last row of seats of the first deck of the north endzone. They were even "reserved" with taped down seat(?)/section numbers.

I doubt that today they can do enough SRO to beat that ol' Miss '14 record.

They should've found a way to make it 112,000.

George Strait packed a few more people in.

We should put SRO crowds on the field. During the game. It's on them to move out of the way of tackles.

110,905 people were at the George Strait concert at Kyle Field on 6/15/2024, but there were people on the field.

After the west side of Kyle Field was torn down and the stadium renovation was completed in 2015, the official capacity dropped from 106,511 to 102,733. Kyle Field came close to reaching the record with 109,835 people when Texas A&M defeated Auburn 20-3 on 11/6/2021. I was at both games and the George Strait concert. I think there will be 110,000+ people for the Texas vs Texas A&M game on 11/30.

Should demolish the corners, put up screens and make an extended SRO area between Kyle and the MSC??? Like JerryWorld???

I think it decreased some when they took 7 or 8 rows out the mid deck in south end zone for 26 private suites after the 2022 season.

Most certainly.

Fundamentally, the maximum occupancy is based on the occupant load which is derived from square footage, occupancy group, and then a corresponding load factor.

But you also have to have enough exits and exit width and certain dimensional requirements along the path of egress which includes our stairs and ramps. With some exceptions, you have to consider this for each area of the building and demonstrate that there is a way for those occupants to evacuate.

That along with other information is called a life-safety plan and one (or several) would have been done at the time of the the renovation. Presumably it would have been included in a permit set issued to the AHJ (City of College Station?) and would have been reviewed by a code official.

Pics of the George Strait concert kinda surprised/concerned me to be honest. If I understand right, we had a packed house in the stands and LOTS of people on the field. Then I started thinking about how that many people on the field would evacuate. I have to think A&M had a conversation with the fire marshal for that.

Allow students and former students to purchase "Be a 12th Man" passes. They get a #12 jersey and can stand along unused parts of the sidelines during the game.

Regardless of the maximum capacity, we should severely limit the seats available to the whorns, and allow them only half the number of seats for their band (better still, no band !). Make all their seats in the end zone nose-bleed sections.

Official capacity is 102,773 seats. They announce attendance over that by counting every concession stand worker, security officer, announcer, staff member, etc that enters the stadium.

I think the SEC has a minimum. They'll have official seats above the tunnel in the first deck and in the corners of the top endzone decks just like everyone else.

It's really up to us tickets holders to NOT sell at a rate high enough to reimburse our entire purchase. I payed 1100/ticket and the stub hub rate for mine is at least that now - those are mostly texas buyers I'd guess. (No. I'm not selling).
