I get why BAS may be infecting your mind, but don't you feel hopeful that we are hearing all these stories of "accountability", Moffitt's impact, all-SEC players coming over in the transfer portal, etc.? Ironic to use the reference "it ain't like it used to be" when it's apparent that it was just a platitude made by someone who wouldn't back it up. Now it's being backed up and there is a lot of evidence to support it. It may be wrong, naive, foolishly hopeful, or unsophisticated but it is definitely not pathetic.

I can feel hopeful. It's pathetic to expect a literal radio shock jock, who's built his entire career on hot takes, to dig in and get all hopeful about accountability, etc. This wasn't even a lukewarm take.

It's too early to consider it "backed up" yet. But you probably fully bought "it ain't like it used to be" when it looked like it was being backed up too. (Which it did for a hot minute).

Clay Travis is right, and it's up to us to change that narrative. These next 3 games against Mississippi State (away), LSU (home) and South Carolina (away) will make or break our season. If we can win all 3 of those games before our 2nd bye week, expectations shift to a floor of 10-2 (7-1 SEC) finish, a probable SEC Championship Game appearance, and a lock for the playoffs.

Our biggest trap game is at South Carolina on 11/2. We will be coming off a tough home game against LSU to play a road game at night against a well-rested South Carolina team coming off a bye week. We should be road favorites to win at South Carolina, but I can see an upset because of the circumstances. South Carolina nearly bounced back from an embarrassing 27-3 home loss to Ole Miss after a bye week with a road upset of Alabama before losing 27-25.

That's actually not true.

The 5 highest conference champions make the playoffs. While remote, it is mathematically possible for the SEC champion to not be one of those.

At some point you have to just say they are good, whether you like it or not. They absolutely destroyed ou, who I thought would be able to at least give them a game. UGA has looked extremely human. Beyond that about the only teams that may give them a run would be Arkansas or Kentucky, both of whom are outmatched at every position by tu.
