it was more than that...we needed 6 weeks of OL improvement, WRs to understand the offense better, true fish to come up to speed, etc. This team in week 6 is SO much better than they were in week 1, not just Conner
I agree with all of your analysis.

I also stand by both of our statements.

The whole team has improved, but, we were a very good team at the beginning of the season and only needed a good QB performance to win.

Our DL is still the heart and soul of this team. It was nasty in week 1. It is nasty nasty nasty in week 6.

Naysayers still need to get a dog and a pin on tail.

I fully expect Weigman to float between the ND Weigman and the Mizzou Weigman in his performance in future games. We won't know which Wiggy we'll get until we start the game.
Thus, I expect to see Reed again on the field during some future game not in mop-up time.

That wasn't just a top 10 win. It was a top 10 thrashing.

I'm glad he brings up Saban

2009: 14-0
2020: 13-0
6 seasons of 1 loss

The guy got everyone's best regardless of who the opponents were and took care of business.

Those are Nick Saban's only two undefeated national champion seasons. Saban's four other national championship teams lost one regular season game each in 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2017, and two of those national champion teams did not even win the SEC West in two 2011 and 2017. Saban went an undefeated 12-0 (8-0 SEC) in the regular season 3 other times in 2008, 2016, and 2018, but these 3 seasons did not end with a national championship. Other than a 7-6 (3-5 SEC) finish in Saban's first year in 2007, he lost more than one regular season game only 3 times: 9-3 (5-3 SEC) in 2010, 10-2 (6-2 SEC) in 2019 and 10-2 (6-2 SEC) in 2022. It is incredible how Saban posted an 11-1 or a 12-0 regular season record in 13 out of 17 years.

2008: 12-2 (8-0 SEC) with a 31-20 loss to eventual national champion Florida in SEC Championship and a 31-17 loss to Utah in the Sugar Bowl

2016: 14-1 (8-0 SEC) with 35-31 loss to Clemson in CFP National Championship

2018: 14-1 (8-0 SEC) with 44-16 blowout loss to Clemson in CFP National Championship

I think that like in the Mizzou game if we

1) physically impose our will on both the O and D LOSs
2) Run the ball well
3) Pass the ball well
4) Have no turnovers

We can win the rest of our games. Should we also

5) get a few good bounces
6) get a borderline call or two that goes out way

We can blow everyone out.

Also like in the Mizzou game, I think if we can score more points than the other team, we can win the rest of our games.

I think we'll win! But we'll probably lose.

Bumping this one because of all of the close games this weekend. It's clear that nothing can be taken for granted this year.

Anyone using Missouri as to why we will win 10+ games is just as bad as those saying we suck because of Notre Dame.

Things look a lot brighter after Missouri but let's see how things go the next 3 weeks before jumping to conclusions.

And I've said it 100 times I still think 9-3 is most liekly but I'm feeling better about 10-2.

Notre dame was week 1 under a new staff

Mizzou was week 6

I put way more stock in how we look week 6 than in week 1

Yep. I've seen it happen over and over where we'll play great going into a bye week, then **** the bed the next week. OR well just **** the bed after a bye week period. See 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019. A few of those losses have been to Mississippi State. Not the same teams or coaching staff, but time will tell if this team can break the mold.

Not having the dreaded collapse at the beginning of October this year was enough to signal to me that things are different

I agree but it was the first game we really looked good. Florida we looked decent but nothing like Missouri

It was the forst time we put everything together
