If the receiver had made an attempt to go for the ball, it would have been an easy pi call because the db would have clearly impeded him. But he made no attempt to go for the ball which made it more of a judgement call that could have gone either way.

It was PI, but not as egregious as made out. He did actually turn his head toward the ball at the last second, which was to his left.

I also don't think it should be a defensive penalty if the wr has to got to go through the defender because of a poorly placed pass

it's was 100% PI… if the game was at Mizzou they don't pick the flag up… we got lucky

doesn't matter if the DB is looking for the ball… we later intercepted a ball that was called PI

I freaking LOVE that they picked up the PI flag on that first drive. It's my most hated play in football that doesn't get nearly enough scrutiny- offense is 3rd or 4th down with nothing to lose and QB is about to get destroyed, so he chunks a prayer downfield with no chance of success, under throwing the receiver by 10 yards and drawing a flag… you shouldn't get rewarded for getting beat on a play, and then trying to game the rules out of desperation

Again…you should get this call when you stop to wait for the ball and the defender runs into you. Its not a foul that the defender is between you and the ball… you dont get adjust and try to run through him and get a call

Yup. We had way more penalties, costing us more yardage, AND they got a no call for holding on their only TD for the ENTIRE game.

Refs didn't cause the tigers to lose, the Aggies did.

if the defender had driven into the WR and initiated contact..then ya, PI. but if you noticed in real time the defender actually slowed up and just held his position. good defense IMO.

It's at least consistent with the "uncatchable" call from the arky game... Arky throw had way more contact that was much earlier in the route.

Exactly. That's exactly what I saw sitting in the South endzone. The defender has the right to be in stride and the receiver had to miraculously make a 90 degree turn; stop on a dime and get 5 yards to get to the pass. Flag should have never been thrown.
