ESPN FPI gives us a 56.2% chance of beating Arkansas, and we are 5.5-point favorites over Arkansas. I am not surprised by these numbers because both teams appear evenly matched. Both Texas A&M and Arkansas lost to nonconference Power 4 opponents, struggled in home wins over Group of 5 opponents, and won their SEC openers on the road by 10+ points each.

I would like a double-digit win over Arkansas for the 2nd year in a row, but I won't be surprised if this game is close from start to finish. We have won 11 of 12 SEC games against Arkansas, but 6 of those wins were decided by 7 points or fewer, including overtime wins in 2014, 2015, and 2017. Even when Arkansas finished 2-10 (0-8 SEC) in 2018 and 2019, we beat Arkansas by 7 points and 4 points respectively. Hopefully, we beat Arkansas to improve to 4-1 and start 2-0 in SEC play. I am predicting a 31-24 win.

I see two possible outcomes.
First. We dominate and win easily.
Second. We lose in a very close game late.

Wow. Slow down, Bill. Or maybe not?

Haven't been following the zoo much this week at this point. Trying to get my fill at midnight and check out some YT SEC shows. Listening to the Elko show in the background.

Tell you this much, I sure as hell am nervous as HECK about this game. It honestly feels like a setup game. Arkansas is a good team but extremely inconsistent, just like us. They have the fire power and an OC to put points on the board.

I'm going with our Aggies but very, very nervous about it. This game is our season IMO in terms of becoming a realistic CFP team this season. We win...who knows how high this team can rise and in Year 1 with Elko.

If we lose, this year is really about rebuilding. We also MUST prove Klein is the OC that 4-star and 5-star WRs want to play for. If not, Sark at Austin is gonna take all the offensive catching talent and be a tough program. No doubt that Elko will be effective in RB talent and defensive talent across the board.

It's the correct take whether you like it or not. As much as you worship sip, nobody seems to mind giving them the win. Absolutely nobody wants to lose to us.

I think there is simply estimating.

Its just another game for both teams. For all the hoopla, playing in Jerryworld, etc....there really hasn't been a true on "rivalry" spin up.

And Mike and Sarah > Willy and Hildy.

I don't get a lot of hate vibes from Arkansas fans for A&M. They DO hate both UTs, especially the ones in Austin.

No team in the SEC should be taken lightly, especially Arkansas. Let's not make that mistake, win or lose, they'll give us a battle.

They've also got some strong talent this year, but if we execute well tactically, we'll get the job done.

It is hard to underestimate an opponent when you have no clue who your team really is.

The team could lose to Arkansas and beat Texas. Nothing about this team can surprise me. On paper they have the most un-realized talent in the nation. They have a coach who is know for maximizing talent. Yet we still haven't seen a consistent pattern of dominant play (on the contrary, we actually have seen stretches of poor play).


No loss will surprise me. No win is off the table.

The bride and groom left much earlier than planned, and they were sent off by maybe one-half of the reception's initial group of attendees. The rest had left at varying points during the baseball beatdown.

My dear friend, an uncle of the bride, told me she left early because she wanted pics of her and her husband's departure to have many guests included.

I was there, and I both marveled and chuckled at the spectacle.

Yes we will .
We will likely be going to a 9 game SEC schedule in 2026 .
There will be 4 groups of 4 teams with yearly play within each group.
Our group will likely include tu/ark/ou .
We will play 6 of the other 12 teams every other year which makes for the 9 game schedule .

I doubt this will be an easy win. In fact it is a very losable game for us.

AGREE...They are certainly on par with Bowling Green...they don't have the coach, but they definitely have more athleticism than our previous MAC opponent.

As a student when we were in the SWC, I can tell you that I had a hatred of them that persists to this day. Yeah, tu was the undisputed top rival, but the Piggies were next.

As a South Texas Razorback fan from childhood (from the '60s) until 2010, when our daughter became a FIGHTIN' TEXAS AGGIE (petroleum engineer class '14), I can say the Hogs save their hate for Texas. They may dislike LSU, Ole Miss, and A&M… BUT they HATE the Longhorns. They (we) left the SWC because of the arrogant blatant cheating and manipulative hook'em hippies that nobody would do anything about.

My grandad was from Arkansas, and as a crop duster and stunt pilot in South Texas, who attended the agriculture conferences and events at TAMU, had Arkansas season tickets and road game tickets for years. My grandmother loved calling the Hogs. Yes, in this regard I was a spoiled child.

Our family always respected Texas A&M and what it represented. We are extremely proud of our Aggie daughter and son-in-law, and have made many memories as Aggie season ticket holders and now enjoy Aggieland with our two grandchildren.

So selfishly, I would like to keep Arkansas as permanent opponent, as we still have family and friends in Arkansas. However, for the state and historical purposes it should be tu. Plus it would force tu to give up their prized Dallas trip. Just my two cents.

in Jimbo's 1st year in 2018...A&M only beat Arkansas by the score of 24-17

in Jimbo's 2nd year in 2019...A&M only beat Arkansas 31-27

the Razorbacks finished 2-10 in both of those years -- they were terrible

those games were an early indication that Jimbo's style of run the ball and control the clock...was going to be problematic

because it naturally keeps the game close and the score relatively low -- even against awful teams

No one is predicting a blow out. Most saying just a win by maybe two scores at the most... IF we play well. Seems very appropriately estimated
