Retreading the same ground. Feel like we seen this play put a half dozen times over the past quarter century. Like watching a show where they ran out of ideas back in season 4 so they start rebooting plot lines that's already been done. Hard to stay engaged watching the same story play out.

IMO, if your playing 2 quarterbacks, that means you don't have a quarterback. You play 2 quarterbacks when one is hurt. Don't rotate.

Intentionally alternating/rotating QBs almost never works over any long period of time. It's a terrible terrible idea. I don't think that's what our staff will do. I think they are trying to handle the situation as delicately as they can and trying to leave the door open for Conner to earn/keep his job. Like Reed's dad alluded to in his interview, it's not really a great look for a guy to lose his job due to injury.

I personally hope Reed lights it up and earns the job, because I think he ultimately unlocks the potential of the offense a little more. I still think Conner could be successful, though.

Cody Carlson and Tom Muecke did it successfully at Baylor for 3 yrs, even alternating series, while leading the SWC in the mid 80s.

Carlson was a year younger and had the solo reins his senior year, then went on to 7yrs in the NFL.

Grant Teaff was a great coach who could manage that. Elko seems to have the same temperament, actually.

I'd argue that you better have 2 guys that can play in today's game because the likelihood of qb1 going down at some point is high.

RC Slocum played 3 Quarterbacks in the first game of the 2002 Season:

Mark Farris - starter
Dustin Long - softest & most catchable ball, broke several records that year
Reggie McNeal - Freshman phenom who beat #1 OU later that Season

King Hill and Dr. Frank Ryan did it at Rice and both played in the NFL. Hill was the Number 1 pick in the draft but Ryan had the more successful NFL career for the Browns.
