Not sure if we learned much from the FL game. Did we put it together or did FL stink? Who is QB1 going forward?

We dominated them early and when they started showing a pulse they went full Florida and switched up QBs.

They're going to fire their coach for losing so much so there's that.

Florida is kind of a mess. I'll reserve judgement right now if we are good or not but the trend is certainly positive.

Outside of Georgia, Ohio State, Bama, Texas this year there are no teams who wouldn't take a game with Florida seriously. Anyone who thinks they don't have talent and the capability to beat you is delusional. They may not be playing well but they have athletes, facilities and fan support any school would envy. The only people talking down this win are the Aggie sh*t posters here who gripe about everything.

idk what that even means. Stop including the goofy Sips with the programs with recent trophies. Sips had their chance last year, and clearly lost to the Washington team who lost to Michigan by 20 a week later.

All of those teams still have something to prove imo. Georgia struggled mightily yesterday. oh st has not played anyone with a pulse. I have to admit the horns have looked good but maybe Michigan is not good and the injuries are mounting up for them before conference play has even started.

Tennessee, Ole Miss, Bama, Mizzou all may be worthy of consideration. Tennessee looks scary good.

I love the genre of fan that immediately tries to find the problem with a great win.

Fliorida is bad and we are good but not great, at least not yet. I think we can improve a lot once we get comfortable with the new scheme on offense.

I think it's little bit of both, but a 13-point road win is definitely a step in the right direction. It was great to watch us dominate Florida from start to finish on the road. As a result, we snaped a 10-game road losing streak and got our first road win since a 35-14 rout at Missouri on 10/16/21, 1064 days or 152 weeks ago. Also, we snapped a 3-game losing streak to Power 4 teams and got our first Power 4 win since a 51-10 drubbing of Mississippi State on 11/11/23. We are looking more like a 9-3 (6-2 SEC) than a 7-5 (4-4 SEC).

Dating back to a 43-20 loss to Georgia on 10/28/23, Florida has lost 7 consecutive games against Power 4 teams, including 4 consecutive home games against Power 4 teams. 2 of those 4 home losses were by 13+ points. Billy Napier has dropped to 7-16 against Power 4 teams, including 5-6 at home. Dating back to a 37-34 home loss to LSU on 12/12/20, Florida is 10-25 (2-9 at the end of Dan Mullen's tenure, 1-0 under interim head coach Greg Knox, and 7-16 under Billy Napier) in their last 35 games against Power 4 team.

Saturday's Florida at Mississippi State will be a matchup of the two worst SEC teams. Because Mississippi State is coming off an embarrassing 41-17 home loss to MAC Toledo, Florida opened up at 7.5-point road favorite in that game. The loser of that game will probably finish with a winless 0-8 SEC record.

This is the way it always is for A&M. It is never that A&M went out and plastered an opponent, it's that the opponent just sucked with the implication that if the opponent doesn't suck, A&M doesn't win. Look at all the opening season victories over LSU in the early 90s as an example of this. Yeah, LSU was not good in that era, but A&M was and showed it by beating those coon asses.

edit - contrast this with sip, who beats a couple of nobodies and a clearly awful Michigan team and somehow vaults over UGA to #1.

That's one giant stretch. I'd say we look more like 7-5 than 6-6 now. 8-4 would be very impressive. 9 wins and Elko gets a 10 year extension.

FL is not good. You still have a job to do. Being an opposing good team is to put your boot on their neck and drain any hope of victory.
