The WRs I agree. Big concern. Notre dame was concerning for Conner, but there's been far more good he's shown than bad in his career. But again, ND certainly makes you pause in him.

But again. All of what you said can be true and you still go 8-4.

And the 3/4 win guys can't really explain why they think that, either. That was my point. But your mentality immediately went after the 9 win guy and ignored the 3 win predictions which are probably more outlandish

It was stupid to assume a team in their first year under a new coach would show no improvement over the course of the seasons, but yeah blame it on the backup QB....who you then say sucks anyhow.

8-4 (4-4); still middle of the pack, even while not playing Bama and Ole Miss, and playing 3 east teams not named Georgia.

Highest ranked 4-lose team not in the playoffs. 2-2 against playoff teams, all at Kyle Field. (ND, tu, Mizzou, and LSU)

W - Notre Dame (going with my heart and what the last AD said we needed, HOPE! We're spending a lot of money for HOPE.)

W - McNeese St

L - @Florida (Gators home field advantage makes the difference)

W - Bowling Green (close game makes Aggieland nervous)

W - Arkansas (please don't lose this game)

L - Mizzou (Tigers have an open date the prior week)

W - @ Miss St (Aggies have an open date the prior week)

L - LSU (it's not Thanksgiving)

L - @South Carolina (carryover from LSU lose)

I think our floor is 6-6 at this point. Plenty of winnable games on the schedule, and the SEC as a whole does not impress me that much (very top-heavy). Nine wins is still very possible, but it would take a lot of things going in our favor to make it happen. So here's my best guess:

At Florida - Win
Bowling Green - Win
Vs Arkansas - Toss-up, but I lean loss
Mizzou - Win
At Ms State - Loss
LSU - Win
At South Cacka Lacky - Win
New Mexican Aggies - Win

I think we finish 8-4, with a good showing in a lame bowl; so not a major departure from historical averages, but also not a major drop off in year one which some predicted.

The BAS is firmly embedded in me, so I will allow my self to say the following: I am shocked by the outcome yesterday. I have not witnessed domination like that since JFF in 2012. Yesterday was different, and very uncharacteristic of a typical A&M game given the circumstances.

If we can CONSISTENTLY play like we did yesterday, then we will be in a great position to win 10+ games. I just don't see it yet but am much more optimistic about us possibly getting to 9 wins.

Literally every call went our way yesterday and we played a complete game. Hopefully, Elko's impact on the culture is being felt enough to where they are now buying in to where they are more consistent in their play.

Every call did not go our way. But we were way more fortunate than we normally are.

I still think 6-6 but 4-8 is certainly possible. Elko might end up being the guy, but not if he stays tethered to Klein. Nothing about Klein's system so far incites confidence.
