Is the University allowed or have they considered relaying the Texas A&M Band through the Stadium Sound System for the Spirit of Aggieland and the War Hymn? Our season tickets are located on the student side fairly close to the south end zone and ever since the stadium renovation and the shift of the Band location with the move to the SEC, I have noticed that it is very difficult to hear the Band. This last weekend at the Notre Dame, it felt worse than usual and the students around us were completely lost. At the start of the game, we noticed that they were signing different sections of the War Hymn and it was noticeable compared to the rest of the crowd. I also noticed that a large section of the students on the first deck began swaying well before they were supposed to.

Just curious if this is something that can be done or if it is more our Fish Class are a bunch of morons and do not understand what they should be doing and when.

Gone are the days when the head yell leader could silence a roaring crowd of 50,000 with the move of his index finger.

We have turned Kyle Field into a scrambled montage of a nightclub, a selfie booth, and a giant video experience which people stare at lifelessly with their mouth open catching flies.

I remember a yell practice in the late 70s when the head yell leader told us to bring the thunder extra loud when QB Mike Mosley approached the line of scrimmage for our first snap of the game. Then, as Mosley approached his center and raised both arms horizontally before the snap, to go from chaos to pin drop silence immediately.

On our first possession, we broke the huddle to deafening noise. Then Mosley raised his hands for quiet, and Kyle went from jet engine hysteria to church mouse silence in a fraction of a second, and the whole stadium could hear Rev barking and Mosely barking signals. Hair rose on necks or poop found its way into pants. Or both.

How we have gone from that to the abomination we have today is criminal.

Why is it always the olds complaining? You really think the football team gets hyped up from hearing the same 6 songs the band plays. Good lord, go to a marching band school if you want to hear nothing but band music.

Hell the non student section sits the whole game and does zero yells

They tried amplifying the band the first couple of years after the stadium improvements. The speakers were placed at the field level and set at a sound level to reach the upper decks. The problem, the first deck was blasted by sound levels that were uncomfortable after a few minutes of exposure

But we can blast a dj at 1000 db to within a million of a sec before snap. Gotta love technology.

yeah, that's it.

all these olds from the 60's and 70's really wanted to pipe in classical music cause the Aggie Band was so out of touch.

Jesus.

no A&M team has matched the 'energy' in the stadium in over a decade.

and the answer of 'keep ratcheting up the mindless light/sound show' just gets worse.

when A&M showed up to play, it was while the band was playing and the crowd was freaking deafening. Not Zeppelin, Boston, EWF, AC/DC, the Stones, or any other great music of the time blasting through the PA system when the 'olds' were in their prime and A&M actually showed up to play on Saturday.

We're from North California, and South Alabam
and little towns all around this land...

The changes of Kyle are far more than just a DJ. Students have changed. What energizes 50,000 college students has changed. Smart phones have changed everyone. I think these changes are far more than just having the band play more or less. Generations change. Culture changes. And even with all of that, A&M is still set apart amongst the college landscape. But it has adapted - and it should.

The atmosphere of Kyle should be more for students and athletes than it should be for anyone else. It's their four years/time on the field. I work with a ton of college students and they love the energy of Kyle now - Mo Bamba specifically, which is a track I am sure makes the blood pressure of olds spike to astronomical levels.

It's not binary. There can be a balance.

Young people enjoy marching band music. Everyone knows this. They also enjoy choral performances, so my question is why in the HELL don't we have the Singing Cadets at every game?

Only if they sing Duel of the Fates the whole time the offense has the ball in the 2nd Half

But the people who write the checks that enable the 20 year olds to attend the games at bargain basement prices do and pay the NIL money to the players do

In my experience, it is true that if unamplified you cant hear the band at all from some parts of the stadium.

If the band were placed in end-zone seats wouldn't they be able to be heard throughout most of the stadium?

With the exception of the band, which I really want to HEAR more of during the game, EVERYTHING that is being done during the game light, music, and sound wise is just a bite or play on something else another school has done.
