Can we give the kid a shot I don't think it can get much worse than what we saw last night.

Marcel Reed or Jaylen Henderson. Some have even mentioned Bussey.

They WILL transfer if they don't play next game. Guaranteed! Those 2 backups are good quarterbacks.

Reed has the biggest upside in this goofy sideline to sideline offense that refuses to stretch the field

Good QB play is incredibly evasive at A&M for whatever reason. I would argue we have had one and a half good seasons of QB since Johnny left Aggieland.

- Trevor Knight for half a season before he got hurt.
- Kellen Mond in 2020 (and 2020 alone).

Crazy how long it's been since we've had a steady, reliable arm under center for two seasons.

We don't have WRs to stretch the field vs good DBs.

Typical Klein's offense is needs good OL, TEs, good RB and a running QB 'threat' to develop the pass game. Klein tried to flip his script to fit CW and get ball out of CW's hands quickly (due to OL is an unknown vs. solid ND DL and WR not beating DBs 1:1...only EStew did that consistently).

So, Reed or Henderson could have added an extra dimension for ND to defend that I agree would have been helpful, but don't think our WRs could get downfield (as Elko stated...we tried picks/rubs and did not work as did not execute them well at all).

Reed looked really good in the bowl game. He had poise and just made plays. To throw for 360 in your first start was impressive. I would like to see him play some if Weigman continues to struggle.

That said, no qb on our roster would have looked great last night. ND has a very good defense, and our pass protection still sucks.

Reed is better than Henderson. Let's settle that debate. I'd argue Reed is better than CW.

I'd agree. Especially after last night. Reed has a decent arm but he can move better than Weigman can

True but I feel like reed is good and can get out of the pocket and still make throws because of how fast he is

He's fearless and should have seen at least a series or two last night. Disqualifying that the staff didn't have the stones to make that call. If nothing else to shake things up and give ND a different look. Clearly last night's CW isn't the answer. Reed better get some work in the next 3 trash games.

I think reed is the best. Way faster and I think might be a little smarter after seeing what I saw from Conner last night
Goodbullag142

Definitely needs to get some work next week or the week after. Maybe it was a fluke game from Weigman but still think the guy needs reps

The offense we had 2nd half of the bowl game was the best offense I've seen at A&M in years. Reed was QB.

Definitely the best offense we've seen in years.

Elko has no choice but to start Reed. Playmaker and game changer

Or we can sit in the nothing changes for the next 24-36mos and add Elkos payout to the list of Aggiebucks

It's funny how people keep saying this or saying that there's no way we beat the domers even if Reed or Henderson played.
You have no idea whether or not either of them would of looked great because neither of them had a chance to show it.

No matter who we start it will be the wrong choice. It's our destiny.

I love seeing all these guarantees being thrown around so liberally the last 12 hours or so.

For the most part, especially since the invention of the spread/sideline to sidle offensives, we have never had a great/good QB unless he could run.

CW looked slow and scared. That doesn't work anymore.

QB legs have to least be a threat and the only non mobile QB I see winning that game last night would have been Dan Marino.

I like Reed the most - his passing skills against OSU - with no starting reps - were better than what we saw from Henderson. Henderson feels like a big athlete that can throw the ball enough to keep defenses honest, but he's not going to be a precision passer, IMO. If we had a more dominant OL that might work to build an offense that grinds out yards on the ground, but we don't.

The biggest issue with Reed is his size, but he may have added some weight. He was just really slight in the bowl game and that would be potentially problematic over the course of the season.

100% CW never went through any progression last night. He stares down his receivers. Maybe the WR aren't good by staring them down and much better.

Reed and Henderson should have playing time against McNeese. Might as well get them some snaps before a crisis develops later.

ND pass defense is good. Gameplan by Collin was good. However Weigman wasn't.

Gameplan went out the window when Weigman laid an egg. The problem was Klein showed no ability to adjust mid game

Methinks a more mobile QB might have fared better against ND, and might thrive more in Klein's offense

But what do I know

Where does it say there is no way we beat ND? The qb doesn't substantially change our pass protection. Reed or Henderson would have been running for their lives. I would have like to see them try, and maybe they could have pulled out a win. That doesn't change that ND defense is likely the best defense we face this year.

It's silly to think any extremely green qb (which all are) comes out and plays great against a top 10 defense, particularly with the pass protection and play calling. That is wishful thinking at best. By every metric you can predict ND defense is really good.

QB2 is always the best QB according to texags.
