A QB that can make simple passes would of been great against ND.

Reed looked really good in the bowl game. He had poise and just made plays. To throw for 360 in your first start was impressive. I would like to see him play some if Weigman continues to struggle.
That said, no qb on our roster would have looked great last night. ND has a very good defense, and our pass protection still sucks.
It's funny how people keep saying this or saying that there's no way we beat the domers even if Reed or Henderson played.
You have no idea whether or not either of them would have looked great because neither of them had a chance to show it.
Where does it say there is no way we beat ND? The qb doesn't substantially change our pass protection. Reed or Henderson would have been running for their lives. I would have like to see them try, and maybe they could have pulled out a win. That doesn't change that ND defense is likely the best defense we face this year.
It's silly to think any extremely green qb (which all are) comes out and plays great against a top 10 defense, particularly with the pass protection and play calling. That is wishful thinking at best. By every metric you can predict ND defense is really good.

Reed is better than Henderson. Let's settle that debate. I'd argue Reed is better than CW.
I have to agree with this. The segment with the magician was downright embarrassing for Connor.Dr. Mephisto said:
I'm looking for confidence, leadership, and the ability to rally the team. Johnny was the best at that I have ever seen.
I'm not trying to bag on Weigman, but there has been a noticeable lack in game 1. The attitude of Henderson and Reed when they took the field last year showed. The team responded, until our depleted forces constantly fell to injury.
I do not want to undermine the confidence of anyone on our team. But I think after so much time and preparation, for Weigmen to lay such an egg suggests something else is broken. His demeanor on the gameday segment was embarrassing. He looked like a high school student trying too hard to be cool. On national TV, his attempt to create a "Nah, wazzup, yo, bro, nah, yezzir, nah!" image looked super immature and less than genuine, like he's focused on the wrong things.
We need a confident leader in the position NOW, whoever that might be.
