Crowd Control Safety Issue

Maybe this should be titled that I'm officially old, but this seemed worse than other times I've been in large crowds at Kyle Field…

I was walking behind section 338? to seats near the south end zone. The game was about to start and people were anxious to get to seats. At this location in the stadium, there are a few vendors against the outside wall, a restroom, and a narrow connection between the old third deck and the new construction. People entering from the south we're going to the student section while people who entered from the other side were trying to move back toward the south end zone, all while the students were attempting to cross both sets to get to their seats.

It became a complete logjam. People in front of me were complaining about being pushed, some people decided pushing was the way to get to their seats faster, and about that time EMTs needed to get through that group for a medical incident and tried to push a wheelchair through.

At that point, it went from being part of a large crowd to where I was being pressed into people on all sides. Other people were as well, and it went on for a few minutes.

That's the first time I've been there that I thought we might be about to have a real problem. I think some kind of enforced traffic flow there could help alleviate a possible safety issue.

I'm somewhat claustrophobic and tight crowds really get my heart rate going. Hate it more than actual tight spaces.

I've been to most games @ Kyle since mid-80s and there were a lot of missteps. Longer lines and more wait times to get in before the game (Not sure why because security was nonexistent). My bag and countless others weren't even gazed upon, much less searched. I walked up to the first stair landing, and watched while waiting for others. Of course some escalators were down as well. They just can't handle the large crowds like they should.
The lack of effort from the football team only made it worse.
Also, not sure why they have so many exit gates that remain closed! I understand funneling people in, but let us get out asap, The same for the yell practice! One exit, forcing people to wait to leave! Ridiculous
Not starting out well! Let's do better

I'd email the AD office. They do seem to care about things under their control and crowd flow. That's my experience at least.

It's like you've never left after the game too. We wait about 10-15 minutes and walk down the ramp and jeez does that take forever. You shuffle along a few feet every 5-10 minutes.

Just because A&M was capable of re-building Kyle into a pieced-together Frankenstadium doesn't mean it should have been done. The design is very unsafe for moving that many people.

Nope. Done that many times. This is the first time I was ever getting pushed up against people with no ability to move…the first time I've thought I might be about to be in trouble.

Best fans in college football. Must have been a bunch of tsips being impatient and pushing their way through the crowd.

The students were amazing yesterday. Some of it was impatience, some of it was other people possibly getting worried that they were in a bad spot too.

I've never been behind that section before yesterday, the people coming from the south entrance go from a very wide entrance ramp and are funneled around a much narrower corner to get behind the third deck. Seems like a bad idea to not direct traffic there.

And we did see some sips yesterday. We call them "Longhorn guy". There's always a handful at all of our games. But this seemed like one nefarious scenario that wasn't part of the BOMC.

Best fans in college football is slowly fading away like many other great traditions.

We walked by there as well. That beer cart should not be there. There is not enough room to get by no matter the game.
