I can't remember the last time we ran a trick play that I liked or was effective. And trick plays keep defenses on their toes making defenders second guess themselves. They can also be very effective when you see a weakness in the other team somehow. Some of the greatest plays in college are trick plays:
-boise state statue of liberty
-Bama's unexpected onside kick in the natty vs Clemson.
-The philly special now popular with many teams
-fake punt
-fumblerooski
-half back pass
-flea flicker
-half back throwback
-fake spike pass with clock running out
-fake field goal
-Malzahn's "The Hidden Human Trick."
- boise state hook and ladder
- the un-substituted receiver still inbounds on the sidelines acting like he's not in the game.
-the eligible linemen on a goalline pass
Would love to see something this year, would love to see it even more in Game 1.
