They look really good against OU so far. Their offense is eating eating Venable's lunch. He was compelling to me during the coaching search. I think Elko was the right choice mostly because I think he stays in college longer than Fisch but it will be interesting to see how he does moving forward.

OU's secondary has been vulnerable all season long. Their DBs seem to have a problem locating the ball in the air. Not sure why the coaches are having trouble getting improvement.

Jackson Arnold off to a shaky start. Maybe OU should have kept the experienced Gabriel.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: not hiring DeBoer or Fisch was a huge fail on our part. I'm happy with Elko, but I think those two were clearly better candidates who were very much attainable.

Fisch is going to win the big xii next year and make the playoffs. But not enough coaching experience for us somehow. I don't think Elko is a bad hire but I think the ceiling on Fisch might be higher.

After the Stoops debacle, I'm not sure who was attainable (and possibly wanted with less than Stoops level of outrage) other than elko

Elko is the guy I wanted. Why? Because he wanted to be here and he will turn this fiasco into a contender.

I meant for someone else other than you. I ran across a YouTube video where Liucci was giving a quick summary of what had transpired with the Stoops attempted hire. Basically he was going to be the guy but the backfire grew too big and I think there was a mutual parting of the ways.

You could probaly still find it.

This guy can't beat ou with a true fish qb seeing his first action. Maybe better days are ahead for fisch, but I'm glad he's not our coach right now

OU is going to be a serious factor in the SEC next year. This Darnold dude can spin it and their defense looks very good.

Brent Z was in on it it with texags. I guarantee you that he had no news or sources. He did not report a new thing, ever, he jumped on rumors. But everyone did.

This crap happened with some tweets then got discussed here and it was like the plague. There was massive disgust. There was so much repulsive disgust in that hire that then it suddenly didn't happen.

Who knows if we will ever know what actually happened. Was it dislike from BoR or was it the public disgust that killed it in action? Clearly the first did it but I do think the latter made it happen. You were looking at pitchfork and torches level of outrage
