Jeez more of this. Jimbo was really good first three years. And with a solid QB Mond. What will you saying with history as our guide when Elko can't do better?
Even those first three years there was a nagging doubt. We threw out a lot of the softness that carried over from the Sumlin years. But his offensive game plan was SO damn conservative. Fortunately we had the O line play to make it passable. When that veteran O line moved on, Jimbo's offensive game plan went poof.

My breaking point were the '21 losses at Ole Miss and LSU. Achane was clearly the more effective back those games but he continued to give the ball to Spiller and the offense didn't move the ball. Win those two games with the Alabama win, number 1 recruiting class and no telling where the program would be

Didn't we open the Auburn game this year with a delay of game and a time out?

We just have to EXECUTE better after every loss and win. I mean did we not watch film and practice?

yes, the NFL draft was very unkind to the Jimbo era

only one 1st round pick during his tenure (Green)

that's really bad

in fact if Nolen is a 1st rounder next year...Jimbo will have had more 1st round picks transfer out (2) than he developed (1)

I knew he was done when he switched Eli Stowers to TE. At that point all I believed was confirmed - that QB-whisperer Jimbo couldn't properly evaluate, recruit, & sign top shelf HS QBs. CW turned out to be the blind squirrel finding a nut helped by A&M being out in front of the NIL wave w/ the '22 class.

His overall record is literally worse than Sumlins.

I am shocked that there are 8 other people on this board as myopic as yourself.

Always the TexAgs response when someone doesn't like the statement. You think Sherman was better? Fran? Sumlin?

1) We struggled year after year to get short yardage first downs in critical situations.
2) We had multiple quarterbacks injured each year from poor OL play.
3) We failed to execute game after game
4) We continued to be within inches of winning
5) Various forms of on field discipline were extremely poor

We put up with this and much more for 6 years before figuring it out.

GIVE IT A REST!!!!!!!!!! Jimbo is GONE!!!! Why keep beating this dead horse???!!! DROP IT, MOVE ON!!!!!!

Yeah I know. But I think Fisher put a better product on the field. Better defense and wasn't blown out like Sumlin.

It makes many feel better. Jimbo Fisher basically did exactly what Texas A&M is historicity. I don't like it anymore than any of you. But the fact A&M is a 8 win middle of the pack program. Fisher did just that. And for many this helps them not have to wonder why A&M can't get over the hump. But history says Elko won't either. My guess is Elko brings back some toughness and nice moments during his 8 win seasons.

blowout losses?

the App State loss at Kyle Field in year 5 trumps everything

App State went 6-6 in 2022 --- including 3-5 in the Sun Belt

lost to James Madison, Texas State, Marshall, and Coastal Carolina

Jimbo is on the payroll until 2031

there won't and shouldn't be any moving on from someone still on the payroll

getting players drafted in the 3rd and 4th rounds is nice, but a coach can't hang his hat on that

some of the players were taken outside the top 100. Some were the 150th and 160th overall picks

where are the WR's? Jimbo has had zero drafted -- that is a killer

You know, I remained a strong believer in Jimbo even through last season (2022). But I did have a bad feeling about his motivational abilities when #8 Auburn beat his 2019 team at Kyle Field in an 11am kickoff. That day, the Ags just did not look like they cared, and that is on the coaches.
The kickoff time for the 2019 Auburn game at Kyle Field was 2:30 PM eastern on CBS. I was at that game on 9/21/2019, and it got fairly hot. That was the only disappointing loss of the season because we had the toughest schedule in the nation with road games at Clemson, Georgia, and LSU, in addition to a home game against Alabama.

I think our 29-19 loss at Ole Miss on 11/13/2021 was the game that doomed Jimbo Fisher's tenure because it started several negative trends that continued into this season. Prior to that game, we had won 4 consecutive games against Alabama, Missouri, South Carolina, and Auburn to start 7-2 (4-2 SEC) and were in contention for the SEC West division title. At that point, Jimbo Fisher was 33-12 and 25-12 against Power 5 teams, including 21-10 (12-3 at home, 2-1 against Arkansas at Jerry World, and 7-6 on the road) in SEC games.

1. We lost our last 2 SEC games at Ole Miss and at LSU to finish 8-4 (4-4 SEC) and then pulled out of the Gator Bowl against Wake Forest because of Covid-19 issues and injuries.

2. In Jimbo's last 25 games, we went 12-13 and 10-13 against FBS teams, including an embarrassing 17-14 loss to Appalachian State on 9/10/2022.

3. In Jimbo's last 19 games against Power 5 teams, we went 7-12, including 6-11 in his last 17 SEC games. In those 19 games, we went 5-3 (4-3 SEC) at home, 2-0 in neutral site games against Arkansas, and 0-9 (0-8 SEC and a loss at Miami) on the road.

4. Jimbo lost 9 consecutive road games, and we have not won a road game since a 35-14 win over Missouri on 10/16/2021.

5. Jimbo lost 6 consecutive road games against SEC West teams, and we have not won a road game against an SEC West team since a 31-20 win at Auburn on 12/5/2020.

6. We have lost 3 consecutive games to Ole Miss, including a 31-28 loss at Kyle Field on 10/29/2022. Of course, the 2020 home game against Ole Miss was postponed several times before it was ultimately cancelled.

the inability to win at all cost? getting your ass kicked? run a trick play...down by 14 in the 4th quarter....tecmo bowl had more play selections than he did. the LSU game is the only game i remember and maybe the 41-38 bama game were the only ones i remember where we matched plays or didnt get down and out

He can say what we are all wanting but its like he couldn't get it out in real life situations. I think thats why the guys liked E-rob so much.

You can talk yourself into believing this if you want and I am not saying I hated some of the games like that Vandy game but we got screwed by the committee and their biased towards the blue blood programs Ohio st and ND. There is just no way to justify using the argument of a close win over Vandy in game 1 of the season holds water against the BS of Ohio st and ND being admitted to the CFP that year.

We were right there, ran a tougher schedule, full SEC schedule than Ohio St playing a joke of a 6 game schedule where their closest game was at home against Indiana. Yeah, seriously. What about ND, played a BS schedule and they beat Clemson in the season in double overtime when Clemson had something like 11-14 of their starters out (several skilled players missing) and the biggest being their QB Trevor Lawrence and it was ND house. They later lost big to Clemson in the ACC champ game, it was embarrassing but yet, the committee put them in over us.

Swore it was 11, but I stand corrected. What I really remember was how hot that one was, and how crappy the team played at least at the start.

Playing all those #1's that year does warrant a pass on those outcomes, but that loss to Auburn was unacceptable.
