One of the transfers happened because the kid showed up to the 1st team meeting with Elko 25 minutes late. Elko told him to hit the road.
Did this really happen? Haven't heard about this but kudos if true.

Zero chance this happened, I mean I know we all get aroused at the thought of this but no way it happened like this.

Except it looks like it did. So....
I suspect there is more to the story than "you're late, hit the road."

Of course. I'm sure it wasn't his first issue.

I think it is possible, especially if Elko is trying to send a message to the players about their dedication to the team. Being late a few minutes would be passable, but 25 is not acceptable in my book. Essentially "If you can't make it on time to the team meeting, you won't make it onto the field...have a nice day."

Do you think had Jimbo stayed these same guys where going to stay after the massive failure this season was..... for 2nd straight year

It might have been worse had Jimbo stayed
Had Jimbo still been around.......

I'm guessing there would have been a Bigger Exodus of VERY Frustrated Offensive players. That would have been lineman that aren't feeling they are getting coached up, running backs that know there won't be any holes to run thru, and receivers & QB's that know they don't have time to throw the ball or a chance to run their routes.

Then there were Defensive players that realized the Offense was going to suck again and wanted to play for a team with a chance to play for a title or maybe the playoffs.

Of course. I've never been more excited than for Fisher. And Elko might be an improvement. But I'm not going to blindly say things like trust in Elko. Mike Elko needs to produce.
I hate to break it to you, but it's really not going to matter what you say or don't say.

This was discussed when the fire Jimbo now, rip the band aid off now, take the loses to the roster now, take the commits loses now, ground swell stated gaining momentum. Everyone said that was acceptable as we would pick up portal guys that could be better.

Well, here we are. As my grandad used to say "…be careful what you ask for, as you might just get it…". We are two weeks into the process, and it too early to panic in my opinion.

I didn't realize that we're done. Thanks for the heads up, Aggie football is no more!

Is Coach Elko scrambling to retain player or are we content to let them go? The list is really growing….what happened to "Elko recruited these guys and is the man for the job! He will retain them all!!
They loved ERob! I think A&M should've given him a 2 year contract. Magic is made in situations like these! Where the players love their coach and the coach wants to win a Championship as badly as ERob did. Plus ERob actually loved Aggieland! It would've been electric! Gotta move on, so here's to Coach Elko, we need to win again!

That's not what I said- and I think you know that. My comments were on all of the folks who wanted an in season firing (I was one of them by the way), who said do it now, rip the band aid, off, etc.- and that anyone lost would be fine. Now, I see a number of those guys who are now whining about the results. We got what we asked for, we need to see everything shakes out.

I realize this is a meaningless question but do we know for certain Coach Robinson was not offered the DC position?

Crap my bad, I clearly misread and was surprised that you posted what I thought you meant. Carry on, good Ag!

A very close friend is a retired Marine Colonel, we were talking about motivation one day in the team context and he told me a story from early in his career…

As a young lieutenant he was attached to a senior Navy Captain. Discussing this same topic, the Captain said to him "a burning ship on the horizon keeps the rest of the fleet on-line."

Yes it does. And I have done the same.

I had one interaction with Coach Elko in 2019 on the sideline during a practice, Intense really doesn't do the man justice when he is plugged in. Watching how this goes the next couple of years is going to be fun.
