We will find out very quickly what he's capable of. 2024 will be the first time in a while where our opening game isn't a cupcake.
Yep, and first up is a program he reportedly turned down.

What I like about the Elko and now Klein hires is it screams getting more of less. You have to do that to succeed at programs like Duke and KSU. With what is on campus...or what's left. What you can get in from the portal and the class if it holds close to where it is now we should have success with development and I feel that is where we are.

Now who is the SC coach and the DC?

I really really like the Klein hire. For the first time in a decade it feels like we might have a coherent offensive strategy.

I know it does. But it shouldn't.
That's been a historical problem. And limitation.

That's where the little brother bull**** comes from.
That's why they giggle about how much space they seem to occupy in some people's heads, even now.

**** tessus. Theyre not a measuring stick.
They're just another SEC team that recruits the State of Texas. One of several.

With Coach Klein on offense, is this our new Special Teams coach?

Let's see what he does first. As with Texags tradition, we'll be calling for his head the first 3rd down he doesn't convert.

Klein didn't help us to pick up any 3rd downs before he got here. That's already put him behind the 8 ball for me.

Seems like a good hire. I wonder why he turned down Notre Dame and Penn State. Hopefully it is something about our program and the fit versus we just made him some ridiculous salary offer to get him.

Surprised Texags isn't against the hire because he is from the "lowly" Big 12.

Given he was a fellow Heisman finalist with Johnny - I bet this hire hits home with him... If he just had his crap together, he could be going places like this guy.

Learned under freaking Bill Snyder. That alone is a strong influence on him. I really like this hire.

How does this affect Conner? He's not a running qb

Hopefully Klein isn't stubbornly set in his ways and adapts to the players he has.

Wait and see approach. I like the fact that he once played and can relate to the players, more than the Fossils we've paraded in front of the recruits and current players lately. Jimbo is Jimbo, but he's sure no Bobby Bowden. Even though he anointed himself on a similar plain.

I can't imagine a 34 year old being stubborn after spending two years calling plays.

I think the naysayers are way overblowing the entire running the QB complaint. Klein in his offense certainly spreads the ball around. QB runs are part of the game in college football. Their percentage of QB runs last year wasn't any higher than ours. QB's taking some hits as runners are a lot different than standing still being hit by free rushers in the pocket.

I've actually become exhausted these last few years watching what appears to be zone read plays where clearly we've told our QB to hand the ball off when there's nothing but green grass in front of them if they had kept it.

I've watched probably 6-8 Kstate games over the last two years and one of my most exciting parts about this hire is his adjustments. He consistently made adjustments in games and in second halfs that were successful which to me shows he understands offense, what defenses are trying to do to his offense, and how to adjust to beat that.

Almost adjusted his way to beating a certain team in Austin! He put them in position to win that game

Who cares what happened against that team in Austin.
Beating them isn't the goal, beating EVERYBODY is the goal, and they aren't the measuring stick
Damn straight!!!!!!!!!!

"Weigman is not a running QB"

Interesting take

Clearly someone did not watch any of his high school games.

Look at Day. Beats most other teams outside of Michigan, is on the hot seat.
