The only articles I see is that we contacted him, and he has made a statement that he's staying at Kentucky.

Is there any validity to making him an offer and he turned us down?

If by offer you mean paperwork to sign, that's not how this really works.

If by offer you mean the job was stoops and we just needed to hammer out details, I think yes there was. It's either that or Liucci knows absolutely nothing.

Not saying that didn't happen, but is there any evidence we verbally offered him?

Feels like he was contacted to interview, word got out, TexAgs freaked out, and now we are convinced we made him and offer and he blew us off.

Liucci said it was close to a done deal. Multiple paragraphs explaining the situation. UK insiders said they thought he was leaving. Stoops' comments about the A&M job were the least communal words of any HC's asked about the job. I guess all of them could have been wrong, but that's a hell of a lot of smoke.

Well, Twitter too. Some tweets with rumors of Mark Stoops being hired came out for UK side but they claimed their source was from the Aggie side. Then it just snowballed. Other twitter accounts like Brent Z started saying it'd be happening.

The zoo grabbed pitchforks and torches. Then all the tweets started to get walked back. At midnight, 1am in Lexington, KY, Mark Stoops' official Twitter had to post about it to say he wasn't leaving.

Both sides must have had a verbal agreement and details were being worked out. Then it leaked that Stoops was the next coach and Aggies everywhere had a meltdown and the powers that be shut it down, maybe even Stoops reneg'd after hearing about the overwhelming negativity from Aggie alum/fans/players about him being the next guy. Not wanting to leave a more stable situation for a chaotic one.

It's really hard for me to believe that Stoops was really Bjork's choice after everything he's said leading up to this.

this isn't some Qanon conspiracy. mark stoops was going to be the next head coach. his agent is the same as bjork so the lines of communication we're working. The details may not have been ironed totally out but i do think in principle it had been agreed to. paperwork is alaways drawn up later.

this is similar to greg schiano and tennessee

nit sure where we go from here. but odds on E Rob are going up. not sure that's the right move either. at this point hoping for elko to salvage a little stability to this situation.

I think there was enough smoke, based on national writers, UK insiders, UK player posts, and MANY sources other than TexAgs, that he was indeed headed towards being our HC until last nights trial balloon burst in their faces.

Stoops says he was contacted - not that he had a done deal, nor negotiations, nor anything else.
