Sorry if I missed it somewhere else, but has there been a decision regarding if they will play on thanksgiving again?

No decision has been announced, but I have to think it will be Thanksgiving or T+1. People generally love traditions and it's rivalry week across the country. I'd be shocked if it's not, tbh.

Good thing Jimbo is gone else we would travel to Austin on Tuesday.

It will be whatever day makes people the most money. So Thanksgiving. Time slot will depend on how good sip is at the time

That would be incorrect if it T day it will be announced and slated over the summer

I like playing t day whether it is tu or LSU because it is an ESPN national game and the time slot is set

I guess going forward they might have a double header egg bowl & tu v A&M better game gets the better time when we played on T+1 they did that

But back in the day late 80's tu was thanksgiving it was a night game and it was locked in over the summer

I would prefer the sips to open the season, and LSU to close it.

I hope we don't play on Thanksgiving, no matter who we play that weekend, unless we never play the previous weekend. I don't like a big rivalry game (lsu or tu) with a short week. I'd rather both teams have the full week to prepare.

I'll bet you a $1 it's week 0 to kick off the season.

Preference would be tu as our first SEC game and keep LSU Thanksgiving/Rivalry weekend. That way tu would either be stuck with moving ou out of the State Fair/Cotton Bowl as the rivalry game or keep it and be stuck playing an Arky or Mizzou or MSState as their new "rival".
Sankey likely offered tu their preference and ou/tu will stay at rhe Cotton Bowl and TAMU will be Thanksgiving/Rivalry weekend.
All that really matters is to BTHO tu.

LSU is not A&M's rival. Never has been never will be. I don't care if we haven't played those SOB's in 50 years, tu has always been and always will be!!!!!! So you new army children grow a pair and get with OL' ARMY!!!!

In the middle 60's and early 70's it was a 2:30 ball game. Keep it that way!!!

Relax, no need to call somone "New Army" just because you think we disagree. Although there is some good history, I never claimed LSU was a big rivalry. I would just prefer to stick t with an irrelevant game on the last weekend of the season every year when that same weekend provides several better match ups like Bama vs Auburn, Michigan vs Ohio State and even TAMU vs LSU.

I'm Class of '80 and I think LSU is our biggest rival now.

Back in the late 80s there was no Thanksgiving night NFL to destroy us in the TV ratings

The game will never be on T Day again. Face it. NFL owns that day now

The Egg Bowl says "Hello"
Kick off is 730 eastern Thanksgiving day
The ratings won't be what they used to be but ESPN still puts a game up in that time slot

LSU has always been our second biggest rival. Always.

As much as I'd love to see the tu game back on Thanksgiving, I bet we see it in early November and continue playing LSU on rivalry weekend.

I'd actually like to always begin SEC play with LSU, and then tu on Thanksgiving day and Arkansas back to early November once the JW garbage is through.. That would make our schedule somewhat traditional.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Two things about schedule:

1. The SEC needs to go to a 9 game schedule.
2. The A&M / Texas game should be on Thanksgiving.
