Why?
Because he will not recruit at a national level that it takes to win championships. Couple that with the fact that he is just a glorified spread offense play-caller. Hurry up, no huddle garbage wins in High School and low level college and then flames out miserably in the SEC.

Surely the AD wouldn't make a hire after just a 90 minute Zoom call. Hopefully, as others have implied, this is just to check-off a box and get to the real candidates.
Traylor checks a lot of boxes, if he is a check-box candidate.
- White
- Male
- Middle-aged
- HC

Those are probably the hardest check-boxes to get. Glad we got them early.

Now for the DEI checkbox interviews.
Does he like late 80's and early 90's metal? And would he make one the entrance music? Some of us are going through a mid-life crisis still, and we need validation that the music of our youth is still popular. Traylor may be our last, best hope.

We need to get our priorities straight around here.

His all time best commits are
4* Devin Duvernay (Sachse, TX)
4* Brandon Jones (Nacogdoches, TX).
4* JP Ulquidez (Copperas Cove, TX)
4* TQ Jackson (Jefferson, TX) @ Arky
3* Beaux Limmer (Tyler, TX) @ Arky

The top 3 were all in one class and that was engouh to get him that award. He's literally a one-hit wonder when it comes to recruiting.
Color me impressed.

Traylor? This is the unexpected BIG NAME?? I'm underwhelmed!
Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and myself founded empires; but upon what foundation did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force! But Jesus Christ founded His upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him. - Napoleon Bonaparte

He was at tu for 2 years and then with Chad Morris at SMU and Arky so of course his recruiting wasn't as good. I'm not saying there aren't concerns or that I want him but he's not some unqualified moron either. He's just someone to maybe consider if we can't land our top candidates.

Agree. The days of almost exclusively recruiting Texas have to be way gone. The type of elite humans in size speed agility skill is a very small pool and it has to be National. A good base of ur roster can be Texas for sure.

I am saying he was able to raid East Tx in a year that had great talent and got the Brandon Jones commit that we totally butchered. That's his claim to fame. That and beating some very average football teams. There is a list of 50 guys that would be better. I hate to bag on a former HS football coach but he will absolutely tank our program.

I'm hoping it's one of those things like, Let's go ahead and get this out of the way first so we can say he was interviewed. Then the interview paper work was thrown in the trash.

Why would we be obligated to say we interviewed him?

Keep in mind, there's noise about Traylor because there's ALLOWED to be noise from him. It affects nothing for him to go "LOOK AT ME! I'M IN THE INNER CIRCLE!".

DeBoer sure isn't yelling that, nor is Schumann, nor is Kleiman, nor is Day or any other coach who's open to the conversation.

The little guy at the bottom is always the loudest because he has nothing to lose. Every major coach has ramifications right now if it leaks that they're seriously interested. The guys that we all love literally CAN'T let it leak or it's a firestorm for them.

I'm resting on this truth. Time is our friend right now.
