Was just a joke

Does it matter that he didn't pay college football and hasn't truly been a stand alone coordinator yet?

The idea we need a "proven coach" makes me nervous. We've gone that route before and paid dearly for it. I'm on board for taking our chances on a OC/DC like Schumann.

Lanning wasn't head coach until 2 yrs ago and it's working out. Kirby wasn't a HC and it's working out
I'm aware of how things go. However, one of our stated objectives was to find a "proven winner".
The DC from Georgia? How much of a proven winner can you get ?
Umm anybody else who has been a head coach and won more games than lost? I'm not splitting hairs but he has a coaching record of 0-0

... and he graduated high school in Texas, so there's a connection.TnAg23 said:
He has 6 championship rings and he's 33.
He was one of 3 people in the prime Alabama defensive meetings, alongside Saban and Kirby.
He was the first person Kirby hired when he got to Georgia
He is an Incredible Xs and Os Defensive Coach, Turned down the Eagle's DC Job
He is a better recruiter than anyone on our previous staff. He is personally credited with 12 5*s on 247.
He makes less than $2MM a year, with no buyout
He is Kirby's right hand man at Georgia, see quote below
"He's the son of a football coach. He's extremely bright. He's extremely passionate. I rely heavily on Glenn for input on practice schedules, defensive design, and thinking outside the box. There's not a time when I think of who can I ask my staff that understands what we want and what we need when Schu [Schumann] is that guy. He's very talented."
-Kirby Smart
Sure, he is a risk. But he is a risk with Championship potential. Traynor and Elko haven't done anything to show they have Championship potential.

Won't happen. Schumann will make a great HC somewhere in 2025 after winning a few more championships. We will be sitting around once again wondering why our coach can't get past 8 regular season wins.1999_Aggie said:
If we pursue and get Schumann it will restore all my faith in the AD and our football future

So is Schumann officially out of the picture now?

Other than the Day and other playoff coach pipe dreams, the rest of the field is underwhelming.

Name all the coaches we are after
On one hand we have pipe dreams and on the other hand we have reality.BadAggie said:

My best educated guess who is still on our list:
DeBoer
Fisch
Lanning
Elko
Kiffen
