Instead of paying him to go away, why not move him to GM or DPP and take advantage of his ability to recruit. Bring in another guy as head coach to actually strategize and coach the team. Jimbo is gonna get paid whether he is here or not so let's pay him to stay and take advantage of his strengths. Bring in the best coach you can and win the whole darn thing. Best case scenario….the demotion causes him to seek a head coach position elsewhere.

Another rook tries to breach the contract. There isn't a draft and no general manager role in college football that can contact recruits. He might accept an AD role at $2.5 million per year and additionally allow his remaining contract value to be paid out via some form of more extended payout on top of the annual.

Or just pay him what he's owed…I'm looking forward to a $5000 to $10,000 jump in required donations from the 50,000 former student seats for the next decade to pay off the extra spend if we fire him this year and pay for the scintillating new hire and further upgrade Kyle and pay it off.

His contract prohibits that.

With that and $76 million you can watch Jimbo lean back in his chair and smile?

F his contract he told us things would be different. He hasn't lived up to his part of the bargain. At least we would find out what kind of character he has.

lol. Contracts don't work like that. He didn't guarantee wins. We just need to fire him and pay him.

Yes, move him to General Motors in Detroit.

The real problem with Jimbo is that he lacks the detail coaching skills for the various areas like OL, DBs, DL,LBs, special teams, etc. That means he must hire skilled coaches at these positions to provide instruction that should be done in the spring and in early August. That is what I see is missing. Lack of skill development like how to cover various types of receivers and the routes they may take. Do it without a penalty.

He's no GM. Just look back to Crab Legs and all the other crap at FSU. He's no gm, he's a decent coordinator that became a midrate HC with a used car salesman mouth.

I think we should trade Jimbo to the Yankees. They shouldn't have a problem taking on his contact. Maybe we can get some expiring contracts in return so we can get under the luxury cap next year.

Just get the OB to dig up some dirt and fire him for cause.

So easy

Does anyone really think Jimbo has the skills to be an AD?

All our AD has to do is take orders from the BMA and not advocate for TCU to get a super regional.

If I were Jimbo, I would consider any reasonable discussion about a longer term role given proximity to Houston and his ranching side business. He knows a bit more about the traditional AD responsibilities than Ross does. But one of those traditional roles…fundraising…likely would put him in contact with people that wouldn't want to listen. Assuming the folks here are representative of the broader fan base.

Jimbo doesn't want to raise funds. He just wants to be given everything and doesn't want to have to be outward facing. It was a big part of his issues with FSU and why they weren't sad to see him go.

John Sharp should pay Fisher, he wanted to extend him out to fifteen years.

One might argue he lacks the detail coaching skills for all phases of the game, to include: QB, RB, WR, TE...you know, those pesky points scoring positions.
