Was curious how the sip D line looked against Bama. They are a solid group, but not remotely as athletic, physical and disciplined as our D line.

I was also surprised how many blown coverages Bama had - no doubt they've improved, but they sure look vulnerable to the deep ball.

Can't believe I'm about to type this, but this game, could get very ugly for Bama. I hate saying that, because...well, you know exactly why. Our boys just need to show up with bad intentions.

Bama just so happened to play their worst game since Saban's first year and sip stumbled into a win.

We'll get bama's best so we better come prepared. Our squad looks like they're ready to make a statement.

Going to put your jersey on tonight and wear it constantly from now until the end of the game? Are you that ready?

We need to play a clean game, but recent trend says A&M offense will turn the ball over repeatedly against fairly inferior opponents (4 TOs combined vs. Aub and Piggy with 2 going for TD returns).

Both teams will come out conservative and wait to see who makes the early mistakes before taking chances.

Max Johnson scares me. He is prone to WTF moments.

That's the biggest diff between him and Weigman.

Conner is football smart way beyond his years. Max is prone to mistakes in spite of his years.

Bama is going to get A&M's best as well. We're going to kick their MF teeth in, relentlessly.

If A&M can shut down the Bama run game (including QB runs) they'll become very one dimensional... at the one thing they're terrible at, throwing the ball. Petrino has had Saban's number in basically every matchup they've ever had, so A&M should be good for at least 21 or so points. All they gotta do is force Bama to do the one thing they don't want to do and hang on.

This is not a Bama team that will get up when punched in the mouth. Tua, or Bryce Young are not suiting up on Saturday. Milroe gets rattled AT HOME! 12th Man needs to do 12th Man things. Go for the knock out, don't leave it up to the judges (refs) by kicking field goals.

This team has been putting it together since the Miami loss. There is a real feeling of this team and this fanbase frothing at the mouth to get at Bama. I think Bama walks into a buzzsaw on Saturday.

Don't fool yourselves. Sip is a good team with a good defense. Not as good as ours but still good. The Gumps have improved and Milroe is playing better. Bama will come out swinging and try going long over the top of our defense. They will do this by spreading their gaps to spread out our defensive front to by Milroe just a little more time. Their passing attack will attempt. to operate like 2019 LSU. Snap the ball and throw to a designated spot for receiver to catch in stride. If they can accomplish this it will quiet the crowd and then will let them run the ball. We must weather the initial storm of the first 3-4 possessions and then we will take control of the game. If we don't it will be a long day.

Only if the team on the field gives them reason to. We need to come out fast and strike early and the crowd impact will be amplified significantly. That's how it was in 2021.

Have to say I like the OPs optimism. I'm a generally optimistic type. But if you ever get it in your head Bama will be easy, you're smoking crack. Not until Saban retires (either actually or "effectively"). I don't see it. I get they aren't the "machine" we are accustomed to, but if you think the staff and players don't know how to bring the business, sipping way too much maroon koolaid.

Arky is awful, don't let that cloud your judgment. Bama remembers 2021. They'll be ready.

This one is a toss up, IMO. I don't see either team blowing the other out, but gut says Bama should be slightly favored.

PS - Well... to end on a small ray of sunshine.... I look to how easily we handled Auburn at Kyle as more of a measure than Arky, since Auburn seemed to do quite well against Georgia (I know... it's a rivalry for them and it was at Auburn, but point remains... Auburn > Arky). And it's too hard to compare how the sips did, early in the season and our team (credit where due) certainly has improved since Miami.

Detmer said the same thing in 1990. "They can't stop me".

I'm thinking the team is sick of all the talk and come out with both guns blazing. Jimbo doesn't like Saban, Petrino doesn't like him either and Durkin wants to prove himself.

Great post and I couldn't agree more. This will be the difference in the game this weekend. I think Max has too many turnovers and wtf moments to get the win.

Bama has changed their offense from this game. They realized they just need to lean into Milroe's legs.

Max had 2 wtf moments in the Arkansas game - both turnovers. He threw a gift pick 6 on 1st play of the 3rd Q. Not sure what the problem was there, but I bet he doesn't make that mistake again. The other was a run where he was initiating contact to try to get extra yards when he didn't need to and fumbled. I don't think he makes that mistake again either.

I think Max is the most accurate passer we've had since maybe as far back as Johnny (including Weigman). Give him time and he can make the throws.

Unless Milroe has improved a ton then it will be very tough for Bama to win. He is the worst QB they've had since 2004 when they had Mark Gullion who got injured after two games and transferred.

They don't have the elite first-round draft pick that they have had for the past 4 QBs. They also do not have a game-breaking RB or even 1 WR who can take it over the top on any given play. They don't have the overall talent at the skill positions that they've had in the past.

On offense, if we quit giving up a turnover for a TD and protect the football then it is going to be very difficult for Bama to match our offensive output. I'm not saying our offense is elite but it is much better than Bama's. For a barometer, we are ranked 29th in total offense and they are 85th.

If our defense keeps up the improvement as they have shown the past two games then they could hold Bama to 10 or less points.

Here's the deal -

We win handily if :
1. Max gets good protection.
2. Our DC brings the same volume of pressure as the the past 2 weeks

Anias missed his block. The defender ran right by him. That's not on Max. His job on the play was to just turn and throw. He doesn't have time to read if the wr is on his block. If he does, the play is already over.
A. G. Pennypacker
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm not sure that is the whole story. Not necessarily completely on Anias either. The Ark DB read the play brilliantly and made a break on the ball so early that Anias wasn't going to be able to make the block. Max should have anticipated a little better and saw what was about to happen.

Edit: Went back and re-watched it - Maybe Anias hesitated just a little too long before trying to get into position to make the block and the DB was able to skirt around him without being touched. And I agree that it's such a quick catch and throw that Max really could not have anticipated it.

It was a great play by the DB. Pretty much simple as that. Ainias couldn't get to him. Max likely couldn't see the DB break on it through all the bodies.

Guy watched film and made a play. I hate the play call. Not just for that scenario, but like.... ever. I'd be OK if that play was never called again.

This is huge. This is it. If our offense can simply NOT GIVE THEM TOUCHDOWNS OR HAND THEM THE BALL INSIDE OUR OWN 35…

We'll win by 14.
