Never threw up a hand signal or chanted wrecking crew. We just yelled our asses off where the QB couldn't call signals. Probably helped that none of us had cell phones in our face all game long either.

The WC was the hand signal the yell leaders used and we all passed it back. Nice try. Hard candy was a nickel. Don't try and old ag an old ag.
D is doing great but not quite yet. Let's at least see what they do against Bama.

In 2004 The Wrecking Crew title was stripped away by Dennis Franchione. The yell leaders stopped leading that yell.
Why anyone would rather follow Fran than claim an amazing nickname that is good for our brand and recruiting is beyond me. Some Ags are strange.

This is true. You yell. But at the end of a great play, you do not do not jerk of the sky and chant wreck ING crew, wreck ING crew. That chant is stoooooped.
The yell is simply, "Creeeeeeeewww"
It's WAY more powerful and noticeable that way.
The announcers will think you are booing the first few times and act confused until they figure it out and explain it's for the CREW. Lots of good talk time about the Aggies, which is good.

Instead Fran stopped it and some Ags with random 1990s idea of what football looked like feel he was right.

Obviously, you don't know anything about the history of Aggie football to think this defense deserves the title of "Wrecking Crew."
How about we go four seasons in a row undefeated in conference play.
The '91 to '94 teams didn't lose a conference game...they were the Wrecking Crew.
A defense that goes 5-7 last year, gets destroyed by Miami, and beats a terrible Auburn and Arky does not deserve the title.

The Aggie defense deserves the Wrecking crew moniker more than the student section deserves the 12th Man moniker.
FWIW, both nicknames are good, but the fans saying not to call them the Wrecking Crew need to get past the Fran era.

The WC grew out of sustained excellence. How about give me a few more great games against Bama/Tenn/Ole Piss before we get caught up in it? Loving the last 2 or 3 games but I wanna see them sustain it before I crown them king

Strange, people think Durkin and Dumbo have really turned things around in last 2 games. Let's see a few mor wins before we can believe things are changed.
The Wrecking Crew was indeed built on the backs of playing bad teams. Remember the Southwest Conference? it included teams like SMU and UH who weren't deemed fit for the Big 12. This generation of defensive players deserves to set their own name. But winning a conference championship or cfp game should be the prerequisite.
why not embrace it -- Wrecking Crew is what this team did for the last 2 games..
