Interesting. I thought it would be within a couple of points either way.

Do you know what the line was for Auburn?

I watched the LSU game last night.

Jefferson had the best pocket presence and awareness during that game of any QB I've seen in a while. We have a very hard time getting pressure as it is. He had several good runs too. Gonna be hard to beat this guy.

Their oline is pretty darn good too.

It finished at -9.5 by kickoff. Opened around 7.

If we can pressure the QB like we did against Auburn we are good. If we pressure like we did against Miami we are screwed.

After watching ark & lsu, ark plus the points seems like easy money.

Arky got beat at home by BYU who just lost to Kansas. How does that factor in?

Their O-Line single-handedly lost the game vs BYU. Constant false starts and holds. Same goes for the LSU game. Their LT is awful. LSU had a ton of busted coverages. Also, if we don't ever get pressure, how in the world did we sack AU 7x and have numerous tackles for loss? This game is always close, no matter the records or personnel. I'm not about to prop up the Pigs as good. They're a .500 football team with an awful defense.
Hogs suck, Horns suck, everyone else I can deal with.

For what it's worth, Sagarin has us as the 12th best team as of this morning, which is 3rd in the SEC behind #1 Alabama and #3 Georgia. Alabama at #1 makes it very suspect. I'm assuming it is still factoring in some of last season since it is still early. Arkansas is rated below Auburn.

ESPN FPI has us as the 16th best team, behind #3 Alabama, #5 Georgia, #13 Ole Miss, and #14 LSU. Arkansas is #34, just behind Auburn and South Carolina.

i think it will be interesting to see arkansas psyche coming into an early game. i know they always get up for us but they have lost two games in a row at the very end of the game. they played a very physical game agonist LSU that all takes a toll. if we can get a good start that would go a long way to overall success.

I saw LSU/Ark game and came away impressed.

It won't be an easy game.

I am hope Arky wont have good game twice in row...If they clean up and not get flagged as often, they could be dangerous team.

Cant go wrong with the transitive property in college football.

Assuming last night was the only arkansas game you've watched this season? Wife is a hog so we watch them all and their o-line is flat out atrocious this year.

They play up for LSU every year, I think they used it all up and will be back to being flat against us like they were against BYU.

Jefferson will have a good game against us with his arm and legs. We need to be able to run the ball on them

Wouldn't touch this game if I were betting unless it was o/u on crazy ass plays at 1.5. I'll go over.

Getting the LT back seemed to help the OL a lot but yeah the OL is definitely the weak point of the offense (which is really strange for a Pittman team)

I would like a 3rd consecutive double digit SEC win, but I won't be surprised if the Arkansas game ends up being close again. 6 of the last 9 games against Arkansas have decided by 7 points or less. I think Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson will give this defense a good test next week. Arkansas gained 426 total yards (289 passing and 137 rushing) and scored 31 points against a tough LSU defense in a night game on the road. That is the same LSU defense that held Mississippi State to 201 total yards (107 passing and 97 rushing yards) and 14 points in 41-14 rout on the road a week earlier.

We have one more year left on this Jerry World Contract. It remains to be seen if the SEC will go to 9-game conference game schedules in 2025 and beyond, and if Arkansas will be one of our permanent opponents.

that statement proves the brilliance of the decision.

Our program is in a different world relative to when that contract was signed ~2008. This series was key to unraveling the tu-0u hype vortex that had reached an intolerable pitch. (anyone remember Ubbs the Angry Midget?) It gave the SEC an entree into the rich north Texas talent pool at a near-zero cost to us, and gave us a big-name game at a time when the powers that be had made it very, very hard to catch an Ag game on TV. And arguably this series was the start of the avalanche of a season that we enjoyed in 2012.

The fact that you (as an Aggie football fan) are in a world where this decision _would_ look so bad is a great thing, and I hope you will one day appreciate it.

That last part about flags also applies to our offense.

The Auburn game would've been an absolute route had the Oline not killed so many drives with dumb penalties.

Arkie's secondary is suspect, at best. Expect a lot of early shots downfield to soften them up. Petrino makes a statement!
Force Jefferson to throw the ball and he'll make mistakes.
Ags win by 10.

It doesn't factor in to the miserable bunch.

The same guys saying it's easy money would be the first saying we will get blown out if we had the last two games Arkansas had, while Arkansas just beat Auburn 27-10.

Yes, this is the only time I've seen them but they looked pretty good to me. Everytime they got into the scrum where they needed short yardage, they moved LSU at will. KJs protection was decent and like I said, it was surreal how calm and poised he was under pressure.

Our games with them have been tough. We beat them by a doink and scoop and score last year. Gonna be a difficult game imo.

I don't think this game is going to be close. We win big, or we lose big. Will be the game when we know who we are.

Jefferson also choked a few throws badly whenever he was forced to leave the pocket, throwing balls 20 feet over a wide open receiver's head in the end zone.

He showed up at the end of the game when LSU DB's decided covering wasn't something they wanted to do anymore.

After Saturday's game, 2024 is the last year on this Jerry World Contract. It remains to be seen if the SEC will go to 9-game conference game schedules, and if Arkansas will be one of our permanent opponents.
Guess what, BEFORE this Saturday's game, 2024 is still the last year.
