Here's the thing. He had 22 catches for 233 yards last year. Yes he was thought to be our #1 TE comming into the season but it's not like he's a proven John Mackey Award TE. He is great and he will be missed but we have talent at TE.
I would much rather have him healthy and our starter but it's not a devastating loss for the team.

While there are certainly bigger things in life than being concerned about the Aggie football team, that's what this board is about. If we can't be concerned about team injuries on a board dedicated to the team, where should we discuss it?

That's just classic TexAgs. Best player at a position goes down? "It's no biggie." Then everyone is shocked and amazed when that position sucks.
This is a pretty massive loss for our offense. No way to spin it.
It's a huge loss agreed, but I'd rather have it happen early in the season than later. Now we can plan for it and get the best player the reps with the first team. We have recruited some good talent at the position.

Don't shoot the messenger, but I've heard he may have been getting passed up. Jake and Theo have really come on. Still sucks about his injury.
If replacing 22 catches is a "Huge loss", we've got much bigger problems.

This is my thinking too. Losing any player is obviously gonna be a blow to the team and Green is one of my favorites, but if I had to pick a position on the team tight end would probably be the one I would pick. This sucks but it's not like when Bryce foster was injured last year

Jake has been with the ones, Theo with the 2s and Dono with the threes so far in camp.
Saturday with Johnson out Theo was with the ones and Dono was with the 2s until he got injured.
No idea how it all would have worked out on 9/2 and I'm sure all 3 were going to play quite a bit this year. I can say for a fact that Dono was working with the 3s so far this year.

Any injury is a loss. Donovan was an experienced TE which is a loss, however, in the new offense he was restarting with Petrino so it's a question mark to where he was at, or anyone else for that matter. Hate to lose anybody and praying the rest stay healthy. Knee injuries suck and can't be avoided. Praying for a great recovery for DG.

Yep. We need to get this giant chip off our shoulders. Much of it is just part of the game but a lot of us jump on the "season is doomed" bandwagon at every turn. Need some optimism during the rough patches. The world is not coming to an end. Prayers for DG.

Yes - there is depth but it's increases the chances of losing another one and it takes experience out of the room. Huge loss.
Was the scrimmage on the turf or at Kyle? I really hope the new turf doesn't lead to a sting of injuries early on.

Theodor Ohrstrom - 6'6", ~260. Received an offer from every school he attended a camp for while visiting from Sweden for his college tour. He was only a true fish last year so had to acclimate but sounds like he's done so very well.Captain Awesome said:

He's a WR trapped in a TE body. Very athletic and quick too. Only issue is he has only 1 year of playing ball in the states. Luckily Jake was the #1 TE recruit last year and he also seems to be doing well in the new system.

Green was much needed support for our inexperienced line last year. I'm not as worried about the loss of receiving production as I am at the extra OL protection he provided. Hopefully one of the backups will be able to compensate as well.

I don't think he was passed up at all. I still fully expected him to play as much as any TE.
He's a loss. The good news is, we have some potential good options to make up for that loss.
