2024 Elmhurst (IL) Immaculate Conception TE Eric Karner commits to Texas A&M

Texas A&M continued to stockpile talent in their tight end room today as 6-foot-5, 230-pound standout Eric Karner‍ has announced his intentions to continue his athletic and academic career in Aggieland.

This decision comes on the heels of an official visit in College Station that Jimbo Fisher, James Coley and the rest of the staff knocked out of the park.

A product of Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst, Illinois, Karner brings a uniquely gifted athletic skillset to Texas A&M. On tape, he shows great fluidity in his route running and extremely natural pass-catching skills. He’s explosive off the line of scrimmage, and he uses his body well at the top of routes to create separation. His huge wingspan allows for a large catch radius, as well.

You can view his junior tape below.

Overall, Karner becomes A&M’s eighth member of the 2024 class. Considered one of the top overall prospects in the state of Illinois, he chose the Aggies over offers from Florida, Iowa, Michigan State, Alabama and plenty of others.

Stay tuned. We’ll have more soon for our TexAgs Premium subscribers.

Good film. Love the defense and down the field blocking. Pass catching is obvious

Ryan lists him as 6-5, 230. His hudl tape lists him at 6-5, 200. That is a lot of difference. Which is it?

247 and rivals both list him at 220. I'm guessing 220-230 is accurate. 200 is off.

He has a lot of room to fill out, 215-220 at that height looks accurate. He has a Baylor Cupp type of build that will take a year or two of eating before he sees major playing time. They have him at TE, WR, DE, and safety.

His coach said 225 in an interview today. He was 195 last year which would explain the "200" listed on the video.

So, he's basically put on 30 pounds this off-season, as it's the first time he's really dedicated himself to putting on weight and filling out his frame.

He shouldn't have any problem holding 240, and likely 250 on that frame and not losing athleticism.

We don't need the bad voodoo of even speaking the name of Baylor Cupp in comparison to a TE recruit.
