Crazy to think we took lame duck Jimbo off FSUs hands for 8 figures + after a losing season, and now they are way better off than they were and than we are for half the price.

This season will tell us who's better off, not some guessing game. I wouldn't want to be in fsu's shoes either right now.

They had to come back from the empty cupboard Jimbo left them with… which will be our fate too sooner or later.

Sure, winning the ACC is just as hard as the SEC...

That doesn't factor into these odds at all though.

Exactly… if he was losing in the ACC why would we expect him to win in the SEC? Refresh my memory. What was our record last year? And what was Jimbos record when he left FSU?

My guess is it will be later, not b/c we turn things around - but b/c nobody wants to pay off the Jumbo Jimbo Buyout.

OP, I mean not really about FSU. Just think, if we had this team and played in the ACC since 2018, we would have already had multiple double digit win seasons, gone undefeated last year and for sure in 2020 and already had 3 CFP berths out of 5 yrs. I mean FSU is in a BS conference we know that. I mean just take a look at Clemson, what a joke. The 2 years we played them, we were rated as their hardest game in 2018 and IIRC, their 2nd toughest game in 2019. That tells you what a freaking joke that conference is.

So why would we overpay for a guy that had a losing record in a crappy conference… who just rode his dirty ass Bobby Bowden inherited program into the dirt after his transcendent rapist of a QB won him the only MNC that he will ever get?

Why would we expect him to do better here? He's obviously stupid as **** about offense.

You must have be confused. I am not defending Jimbo and I surely am not hating on him with you either. I realize there are many factors that have led up to this point in time but I don't make those decisions of who gets hired, how much we pay him, when do we extend him so we don't lose him to Lsu and fans all were so glad when we extended. Yeah, I remember all of it but I don't make those decisions and nobody on here does so you won't get the answers you are looking for here.

Suggesting we would have gone undefeated last year when we couldn't even beat App State just destroys any credibility you may have and makes your post worthless.

jimbo fisher has forgotten more in one day about football than you will know in your lifetime. these diatribes are ridiculous. last season was a perfect storm of sorts let's just see how this one plays out. last year sucked no one will defend how that's eason turned out but it's a new year and with 19 of 22 starters coming back i like our odds to have a strong improvement. pre season don't mean **** look at us last year.

i would not take mike norvell over jimbo fisher it's not close.

Sounds great to me. Don't respond to my post in the future and I will do the same for yours. I guess you never thought, if we had better records and CFP berths already how we wouldn't have hired Addazio and Durkin and yes, that changes our entire season. Hell, those 2 together cost us 3-4 wins and that was with our schedule last year. So, yeah, don't respond to me and I surely won't to yours. Thanks,

I got 50/1 at Circa a couple of weeks ago.

I'm talking about the odds that are posted, keep up. The ACC is a much easier route to the playoffs.

FWIW (nothing) I was SHOCKED that A&M hired Jimbo, especially for all that money. He ran the FSU program into the ground and, incredibly, A&M hired him anyway. That was just a BIZARRE hire.

Georgia, Tennessee, and Bama, the three best teams in the SEC, ALL lost their starting QB's to the NFL. Until somebody beats them, Georgia has to be the favorite but the race for the SEC title may be more competitive than it's been in years!

I like the chances of a victory over Bama this year considering the game is at Kyle and it should have been a win last year if not for a horrendous play call.

Two things that should have given A&M pause about hiring Jimbo:

1. He was likely to be let go by FSU. A&M believed Jimbo's cry for funding of facilities and thought that was the final piece of the Jimbo puzzle.

2. He was known by FSU to be very disorganized. That comes across when he speaks. It is hard to follow what he's saying sometimes.


Having said that, I think Jimbo can win at A&M. He wasn't worth the contract terms but I don't think anyone is arguing that it was a good deal.

This season is critical as he needs to lead the team well beyond 5 wins.

2024 is equally critical as the divisions go away and the schedule complaints about competing in the SEC West may be alleviated.

Since everyone loves to play the transitive game….we blew out LSU and FSU won on a fluke play….therefore we are better.
