2024 Blountstown (FL) safety Jordan Pride commits to Texas A&M
The Aggies have gone back into the state of Florida and reeled in one of the top defensive prospects in the Sunshine State as DB Jordan Pride has verbally committed to Texas A&M today. The Blountstown High School product, who spent part of his prep career at IMG Academy, announced his decision via social media.
Pride was a long-time Florida State commit before opening up his recruitment in April. It was basically a foregone conclusion in the recruiting world that the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder was headed to Gainesville to play for Billy Napier and the Gators, but the Aggies had other ideas. This is a pretty significant win for Bryant Gross-Armiento, TJ Rushing, D.J. Durkin and Jimbo Fisher.
On tape, Pride flashes elite athletic traits along with top-end playmaking skills. He shows an advanced feel as a one-on-one defender — both against the run and pass. He’s a sure tackler in space and should improve in that area as he adds the requisite strength/weight to play on the back end of an SEC defense.
You can view Pride’s junior tape below.
Overall, Pride is A&M’s sixth commitment of the 2024 class.
